ACADEMIC COUNCIL DECISIONS, JANUARY 2013
ACD 031 ss 2013: Hotel Rafael Reservation Guidelines
The revised guidelines and forms are submitted for approval. It was explained that the
rates and the guidelines are public information.
As a clarification, arrangements may still be done among internal users. Also, no letter
needs to be submitted to the OP or College dean. Generally, the form shall suffice.
The following were suggested to be looked into: offering of coffee, availability of
breakfast, and internal rates.
ACD 032 ss 2013: GE Proposal
Consultation has been made. An updated copy as a result of the approved GE proposal
must be submitted to CHED. The approved proposal shall be applied to incoming
students.
The offering of Statistics with 2 units lecture and 1 unit lab to all colleges regardless of
program is not applicable to COEd and CCJE.
ACD 033 2013: LS Festival
The members of the community (faculty and students) are expected to wear La Salle
green shirts on February 11.

Subject teachers holding alternative class activity will still be required to file the
necessary forms.
Submission of assignment and take home exam are allowed.
ACD 034 ss 2013: Open University
The vision-mission of the DLSU-D Open University has been approved with the following
comments and revisions:
It was clarified that Face-to-face is mediated.
ETC shall certify the readiness of the faculty. Initial offering is Marketing and
Criminology.
Training for Module writing shall be done.

Admin recommendation
Deadline of submission is on February 6. It was clarified that it is not automatic that the first in the list will be the one who
will get the appointment.
CEAT construction
The BIDS shall be opened ASAP. It will be submitted to a quantity surveyor to evaluate the bids.
A meeting shall be held to gather insights and observations on how to address the CEAT construction issue. The former
EVP shall be invited.
Subsidy for international paper presentation
Things that must be considered:
1. Increasing number of presenters
2. Benchmarking with big universities
3. URO as centralized granting unit in coordination with OVCAR
The following must also be clarified:
1. Will papers that are personally funded yet disapproved by URO be funded?
2. When will a paper presentation be considered as official?
3. How will the money be divided?
The CLAC dean has been assigned to look into the matter.
ELGA
A new team shall look into the ELGA and LGP integration in the Academic curriculum. A revitalized plan shall be
submitted in March.
Creative program
The VCAR announced that Vangie Reyes shall be the coordinator for creative programs. It was suggested that Ms. Reyes
benchmark from other universities that offer creative programs.
Instructional materials development guidelines
It was underscored that URO shall not offer any funding. The college, upon determination of the need, may fund the
project. It can also be added to the minimal semestral fee of students.
The FA shall be asked to come up with recommendations. Departments shall be consulted .
Invitation of students to perform
Students may be allowed to accept invitation to perform and travel by water in regional events only.
Capping on General Assembly Budget
It was proposed that capping be done per head. The choice amount is PhP100/head or Php100,000/activity.
It noted for action of the Council of Associate Deans: It should be reconciled with the amount indicated in the trust fund
for GA.
