Headland Weathercheck
HEADLAND WEATHERCHECK USES THE LATEST FORECASTING TECHNOLOGY TAILORED SPECIFICALLY FOR THE TURF & AMENITY INDUSTRY
Introducing Headland Weathercheck
Headland Amenity have been providing
general weather forecasts to their
customers for the last five years, interpreting
long-term weather patterns
and 7-day forecasting data provided by
Meteoblue, a specialist metereology
company based in Basel, Switzerland.
As this partnership developed, work began on developing a specific weather
package tailored for the turf industry and incorporating up to date forecasting
technology tailored to a specific location, such as a golf club or racecourse.
The result of this partnership is Headland Weathercheck, due for launch in
Spring 2011.
Features of Headland Weathercheck
Headland Weathercheck features a location specific weather forecast,
incorporating four key modules;
Module 1. General 7-day forecast
This incorporates a daily weather summary showing low and high temperatures,
wind speed and direction and projected precipitation in mm per day.
Module 2. Detailed 7-day forecast (above)
This breaks Module 1 down into 3-hour segments and graphically illustrates
rainfall intensity and timing using SP✳T forecasting technology. This represents
the location as the centre of a rain radar diagram.
Module 3.
RainNow location specific rainfall data
Using SP✳T forecasting technology,
RainNow produces a 25km radius, ‘rain
radar’ map showing the past rainfall over
the last two hours and the projected rainfall
looking ahead for 90 minutes. The data
is updated every 15 minutes.
RainNow Explanation
Diagram above shows heavy rain showers to the east of the forecast location
Module 4. Agronomic Meteogram
This module provides a detailed graphical summary looking ahead 7 days and
importantly projects conditions for spraying based on anticipated rainfall,
wind strength, high temperature and risk of frost.
