Our SIR Series Spe<strong>ctro</strong>m<strong>ete</strong><strong>rs</strong> are fiber-based systems that use a unique design<br />

that allows rapid spectral scans over its entire spectral range.<br />

They can also provide real-time data from several discr<strong>ete</strong> wavelengths. Its<br />

compact design allows you to integrate <strong>the</strong> SIR easily into OEM applications and<br />

online process environments. SIRs are especially useful for laser-based<br />

applications.<br />

Technical Tip<br />

IR Light Sources<br />

Because SIR Spe<strong>ctro</strong>m<strong>ete</strong><strong>rs</strong> cover NIR and mid-IR<br />

wavelengths, you’ll need to consider light sources<br />

with response in those regions. Our HL-2000 Tungsten<br />

Halogen Source has response to about 2000 nm, so<br />

you’ll need something different for most SIR models.<br />

We recommend our Cool Red Light Source, a high-power silicon nitride emitter<br />

with output from ~600-6500 nm. Additional information on <strong>the</strong> Cool Red is<br />

available in <strong>the</strong> Light Sources section. Also, you’ll need optical fiber and sampling<br />

accessories that will transmit at <strong>the</strong> longer mid-IR wavelengths. Some <strong>of</strong> your options<br />

are described in <strong>the</strong> table on <strong>the</strong> next page.<br />
