Choose-An-Ending Mystery Book Report
I will supply a large piece of construction paper to be folded in half. Prepare the
following on white paper and paste onto construction paper.
What to include:
On the outside cover:
Title, Author, Illustration (hand-drawn and colorful), Your Name.
On inside left side:
A one-page summary (the back may be used if needed). If typed, it should
be typed by you (not your parents) and double-spaced. Describe the plot in
an exciting way that will capture the reader’s interest WITHOUT TELLING
THE ENDING OR WHO DID IT! **Include main characters (detective,
suspects, witnesses), setting, mystery, clues, and red herrings found in your
book. See rubric for more details.
On the inside right side:
Three separate endings (labeled A, B, and C) one of which is the REAL ending
and two convincing alternatives that you make up. Each should be no shorter
or longer than a paragraph.
On the back outside cover:
Paste the rubric and complete the self-rating.
How we will use the reports:
You will read your summary and three possible answers to the class.
You will take a silent vote of answers and record them.
We will see who was the most successful at “stumping” their classmates!
