Cynthia Summers endowment for youth, Cultural, and Arts Fund This fund began as a memorial to Cynthia F. Summers, a teacher at Harmar School, who was known in the community for her commitment to young people. It now supports the work of the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club. telesis Alumni Fund Established in 2004 to support the charitable activities of the Telesis leadership program. Warren Local Schools Activities Fund Supports scholarships, special projects and student activities for the Warren Local School District. Warren Local Schools technology Fund Established in 2004 to support a wide range of technology activities for Warren Local Schools as advised by the donors, Rodney, Kenna, and Andrew Short. young emerging Leaders Fund Established in 2005 to provide a funding vehicle for the number of activities and service initiatives that the Young Emerging Leaders of the Mid-Ohio Valley will be undertaking. young engineers & Scientists Foundation Fund Established in 2007 to support a wide range of charitable activities for promotion of educational awareness and further education of students in Washington County area to foster the desire to pursue further in the fields of science, engineering and related disciplines. FieLD oF inteReSt FunDS The donor directs the Foundation to support an area of choice; e.g., arts, education, health or recreation. The Foundation awards grants to organizations within the specified field. Leola Booth Fund Turned over to the Foundation without restriction, although the Board of Governors continues to see that the donor’s original requests are carried out. These requests are to provide needy Washington County children with medical care, dental care and clothing. *Jerry and Jennylou Brock Fund for the Homeless, Hungry, and needy The Jerry and Jennylou Fund for the Homeless, Hungry, and Needy was established in 2010 to provide support for the homeless, hungry, and needy in the Marietta and Washington County area. euna Brown Fund to Aid School Children Established to provide shoes, clothing, medical and dental care to high school children, but not restricted to high school children. Bill Curran Alcohol and Drug Abuse prevention Fund The Bill Curran Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Fund was established to provide resources and support to the Marietta and Washington County area for the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse. *Friends of Felines Fund The Friends of Felines Fund was established in 2011 to support the Spay and Neuter of cats & kittens in the Washington County area. Leroy & Carol Gutberlet Foundation Fund Established to help youth in the area by providing financial resources for activities that promote youth development. *Jason Hollister memorial Fund The Jason Hollister Memorial Fund was established in memory of Jason Hollister, who suffered from Bi-Polar Disorder. The purpose of the fund is to financially assist families and individuals dealing with Bi- Polar Disorder. *Liberty Ship education Fund The Liberty Ship Education Fund was established in 2010 to provide history education to children in the Marietta area. the Lighting Committee trust Finances downtown rooftop lighting projects and related activities. *michael Littler Fund for Kids The purpose of the Michael Littler Fund for Kids is to provide support to financially needy children attending Harmar School in Marietta or the Harmar Community Center. William e. mcKinney memorial tree Fund Established in memory of William E. MicKinney, former publisher of The Marietta Times, to support the planting and continued care of trees for beautification of the city. ohio Showboat Drama Fund Established in 2007 by former members of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Showboat Drama, Inc., to support theater arts in the Mid-Ohio Valley. The original contribution was made with residual funds from the sale of the Becky Thatcher Sternwheeler to private interests. Sarah Rebecca Warren Fund Provides medical assistance for individuals in financial need who are referred by a nonprofit agency. Recipients are uninsured and underinsured residents of Marietta Township or reside within the Marietta city limits. Washington County Disaster Relief Fund The Washington County Disaster Relief Fund was created to respond more effectively to community based needs arising from natural disasters. Through this fund Marietta Community Foundation provides grants to locally based nonprofits leading disaster relief efforts. Washington County Fund for Historical and Cultural events The Washington County Fund for Historical and Cultural Events was established to support various activities in Marietta and Washington County. *Washington County Fund for parks and Recreation The Washington County Fund for Parks and Recreation was created upon the dissolution of the Incredible Community Playground Fund to support various activities in the Marietta and Washington County area. AGenCy FunDS Established by qualified charitable organizations, these funds generally distribute income at least annually to advance the organization’s purpose. Charitable organizations place endowment funds with the Foundation as a means of protecting them for the future. PAgE 8
Children’s toy & Doll museum Fund Provides financial resources for the Children’s Toy and Doll Museum. Colony theater Restoration Fund Provides financial resources for the restoration of the Colony Theatre. Community 20/20 Fund Established in 2004 to serve the needs of the 20/20 organization in furthering their mission of preserving and enhancing the quality of life of residents of Marietta/ Washington County. Arthur & paul Daniels’ Fund The Marietta Family YMCA established the Arthur & Paul Daniels’ Fund to honor Paul Daniels for his long-term commitment to the YMCA. The Donors wish to honor and respect the generous contribution that the Daniels’ family has entrusted to the Marietta Family YMCA by utilizing this donation for the continued nurturing of our community. economic Roundtable of the ohio Valley trust Provides speakers for the Marietta/ Parkersburg communities through the Economic Roundtable. edward parrish Chapter Colonial Dames XVii Century Fund The Edward Parrish Chapter Colonial Dames XVII Century Foundation was established in honor of Dr. John E. and Thelma Boyer Rupert with the resources donated by the estate of Mrs. Rupert. Its primary purpose is to support the Edward Parrish chapter and other charitable work in Marietta and Washington County, Ohio as advised by the membership of the Edward Parrish Chapter Colonial Dames XVII Century. ely Chapman education Foundation Fund Provides financial resources to the Ely Chapman Foundation which, in turn, provides experience-based, individualized, alternative educational programs, utilizing the most current technology in nontraditional classroom settings to students with diverse backgrounds. Programs include Sunshine Learning Station and the Living Rivers Program. First unitarian universalist Fund Established to promote activities and maintenance of the First Unitarian Universalist Society. Friends of the Lower muskingum River Established to improve the water quality and natural habitat of the Lower Muskingum River watershed and promote appropriate improved recreational and economic development within it. *Friends of the museums endowment Fund The Friends of the Museums Endowment Fund was established in 2011 to provide support to the Friends of the Museums, Inc. Friends of the Washington County public Library Established to provide a reliable source of financial support for the development, growth and continuing operations of the Washington County Public Library. George & Katherine Hayward Fund for Caring Connection Established as an endowment fund for Caring Connection. Greater marietta united Way endowment Fund Established in 2004 to provide a permanent source of income for the Greater Marietta United Way as it furthers its mission of improving people’s lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. Hervida 4-H Camp, inc. endowment Fund Created in 2007 to provide funding to support operations as well as maintenance and upkeep at Hervida 4-H Camp located in Northwestern Washington County, Ohio. Humane Society of the ohio Valley Foundation Established in 2003 to provide a reliable source of financial support for the development, growth and continuing operations of the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, Inc. marietta Band Boosters Fund Provides financial support for the instrumental music department in Marietta City Schools. marietta Family ymCA endowment Fund Established to provide a permanent source of financial support for the development, growth, and continuing operations of the Marietta Family YMCA. marietta Family ymCA Facilities Fund Established to provide for the future construction and renovation of the facilities of the Marietta Family YMCA. marietta Franciscan Community meals Established in 2007 to provide a funding vehicle for operation of the Marietta Franciscan Community Meals Program. marietta natural History Society Fund Established in 2008 to increase awareness of and enhance wildlife habitat in and around Marietta. marietta Rowing & Cycling Club Fund Provides financial resources to the Rowing & Cycling Club and its projects. marietta Soccer League Charitable Fund Established in 2006 to support the continuation of the Marietta Soccer League as directed by its elected board. marietta tiger Athletic Boosters Fund Established in 2007 by members of the organization to provide a vehicle for the funding of athletic activities in Washington County. o’neill Senior Center Fund An endowment fund necessary to sustain and enhance the objectives of the O’Neill Senior Center in offering programs and facilities that create opportunities for older adults. osteopathic Foundation Fund Provides assistance to Selby General Hospital, an osteopathic hospital. Right path for Washington County Foundation To provide funding for activities and operations of The Right Path of Washington County. Riverfront Library Association endowment Fund Established in 2007 to provide financial support for library services to the riverfront communities of Monroe County, OH through the Dally Memorial Library located in Sardis, OH. Southeastern ohio port Authority Fund Created in 2006 to provide a funding vehicle for various Economic Development activities in the Washington County area of Ohio. PAgE 9
