PAYMENT MODE
Conference fee is to be paid in Cheque or by Demand Draft (DD) drawn in
favour of “M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Management”, payable at Bengaluru.
The DD should reach the Conference Convenor no later than fifteen days before
the Conference date.
Accommodation
Assistance in finding accommodation would be provided on request with full
details reaching the Conference Convener no later than one month before the
date of the Conference. Costs in this regard will have to be borne in entirety by
the participants.
Reaching the Institute
Bengaluru is well-connected by air, train and road. MSRIM is located in one of
the prime areas of Bengaluru, in M S Ramaiah Nagar, named after the visionary
educationist, industrialist and philathropist, late Dr M S Ramaiah. The
Institute is in the vicinity of the Indian Institute of Science and Central Power
Research Institute. The Institute is about 30 km.s from the International
Airport and is within a short distance from Yeshwantpur Railway station.

About Us
The M. S. Ramaiah Group of Educational Institutions, promoted by the
Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) is more than 50 years old and is one of
the most respected names in the field of education in India. M. S. Ramaiah
Institute of Management (MSRIM, www.msrim.org) also known as the Post
Graduate Centre for Management Studies and Research was established in
1995 as an autonomous Institute. It offers a two- year full-time Post
Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) approved by the AICTE (New
Delhi).
MSRIM has excellent full-time faculty, many of whom have worked in the
industry at senior levels. Their rich and varied experience enables them to
share their knowledge innovatively, enhancing the perspective and learning
of students. MSRIM has consistently been ranked among the top B-Schools
of India.
Research Centre, MSRIM
The Research Centre at M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Management was set up
in 2009 to undertake research related activities like organising research
conferences, seminars and workshops. The Research Centre publishes the
biannual refereed research journal 'M. S. Ramaiah Management Review'
(ISSN-0975-7988) and a newsletter 'Sankalpa'. As part of its activities, this

Conference Theme
“Emerging Sectors: Growth Drivers For
Indian Economy”
India has been bursting at its seam and is on the threshold of a buoyant
economy since the initiative of liberalizing the economy way back in 1991.
The Sine qua non of all the initiative taken by successive governments since
1991 has been to snow ball the economy to a state of sustained growth
progress and greater quality of life. The success stories of corporate growth
and growth of specific sectors abound and history is a witness to it. The
question that has dogged economists, academicians and the business
professionals has been, while the country has seen growth, is it pocketed to
specific sectors only, and why is there little progress in certain areas. What
have been the triggers for growth and on the counter, what has been
inhibiting growth of our country? Why is there still a need for rekindling of
the debate on FDI? Have the statesmen, bureaucrats and economist not
envisioned the country's progression and defined its path? Have the
government failed to visualize the key issues impacting the growth of the
country? The conference on “Emerging Sectors: Growth Drivers for Indian
Economy” will focus on these key issues and sectors, which in turn will
facilitate in achieving desired results. It is hoped that the key outcome of the
conference will be in the form of contribution not only to the existing
literature but also document the key noting and observations of the
corporate and academia.

The Conference will be held on March 8 , 2013 with concurrent sessions
being conducted on sub-themes quoted above. There will be a keynote
address in the Conference and each technical session will have one invited
lecture and/or one presentation from industry/sponsoring organization,
followed by the paper presentation by selected delegates.
An additional distinctive feature would be the poster presentation
competition for the students.
Guidelines for Abstract Submission:
Selection of papers for presentation and discussion will be based on a
detailed abstract of about 300 words. The abstract must include a clear
indication of purpose of research, methodology, major results, implications
and key references. The author(s) should clearly mention the sub-theme of
the research paper.
They should adhere to the following guidelines:

Title , author(s), affiliations(s) ,contact details
The subject expert committee will review abstracts and only those abstracts
approved by the reviewers will be selected for presentations. One hard copy
and one soft copy of the abstract in M.S. Word format should reach the
Conference Convener, not later than January15, 2013.
Guidelines for Full Paper Submission:
The manuscript of the full paper in MS Word format should reach us on
or before Feb 10, 2013.
The manuscript should conform to:
a) Spacing : Double space
b) Font & Size : Times New Roman, 12-Point
c) Margins : One inch all around
d) Page Numbering : Consecutively numbered
e) Page limit : Though organizers may consider some
exceptions, the manuscript should not be more
than 20 double space pages including the tables,
figures, illustrations & references.
f) Title Page : The title page of the manuscript must include
the title of the theme, author's name,
affiliations, phone numbers, key words
(maximum 5) and e-mail ids.
g) Acknowledgement should appear at the end of the paper, before
references.
h) All tables, charts and graphs should be given on separate sheets with
title. Wherever necessary, source should be indicated at bottom. All
figures should be in grey scale and not in color. The End-notes, italics
and quotation marks should be kept to the minimum.
i) Harvard-referencing style should be followed.
j) Papers must not have been presented, published, accepted for
publication or be original and under review elsewhere. An undertaking
to this effect should appear in the cover letter or in the transmittal
e-mail.
k) Name(s) of the author(s) should appear only on the title page.
l) All Correspondence will be addressed to the first author, in case of joint
authorship.
m) Double-blind peer-review process would be followed for paper
