Prioritized Strategies<br />

<strong>Indore</strong> presents challenges in terms of city administration, resource constraints and<br />

the over all attitudes of citizens. However, it has attracted donor attention over last<br />

two decades and has implemented several donor funded projects, aimed at<br />

improving the access to urban services to poor. Valuable lessons have been learnt<br />

from these projects which informs this resilience strategy. <strong>Indore</strong> is expected to<br />

continue to attract donor funds for pro-poor inclusive urban development.<br />

<strong>City</strong> ULB faces challenges of administrative, municipal financial autonomy and<br />

health, political will and lack of consensus. <strong>Indore</strong> resilience framework is based on<br />

following strategies to initiate and sustain climate change resilience strategy<br />

Approach to the <strong>Resilience</strong><br />

Addressing current risks and vulnerabilities with CC context<br />

Create awareness about climate risks and generate demand: Bottom up<br />

approach<br />

Demonstrate resilience projects to generate interest among the ULBs and<br />

other decision makers<br />

Generate Multi-Sectoral Information & Shelf of Project Proposals<br />

Building synergy with state and national institutions<br />
