Help and Ideas needed! The events co-ordinating group require new ideas for fundraising and social events for the benefit of the church. We also need more assistance in organising and running these events. If you are able to come up with an idea and get a team together to run it, please contact The Minister or Pauline Richardson. You will not have to join the group, just come along as necessary. Anyone just wishing to help, contact Pauline, so I can have a list of people to draw on. Remember, the more people we can call on to help will mean that we'll be able to spread the workload and we will all get a chance attend events as part of the audience Commitment for Life The next Commitment for Life collection is on Sunday 5 th July. A Cuppa, A Prayer & A Chat We are planning to set up a prayer group at St. James's. It will be very informal. If you are interested in joining us or have any comments about the time/day please contact Gertrude Jones or Sandra Baker to give us your suggestions. Thank you.
Church Walks Dunstan Steads Walk June 2009 Once again we were blessed with perfect weather for this walk. From just below Dunstan Steads farm we walked along the track to the western side of the Golf Course. There were sky larks singing away above us, while on either side of the track were wild flowers and grasses of different colours and textures. After taking the long route round the edge of a field we reached the entrance to Dunstanburgh Castle and most of us then walked down towards the sea and sat on the grass to enjoy watching the sea and birds. The kittiwakes and fulmars soared on the wind or were busy around their nesting sites on the cliff face. We then followed the path round on the landward side of the Castle and after walking along the top of the dunes went down on to the almost empty beach. This was probably the best part of the walk as far as the 2 dogs were concerned! We had lunch at the Dunstanburgh Golf Course Club House, which is always good value. Another 6 non-walkers joined us for this which was good. Travelling home afterwards I think we all felt that we had had another wonderful walk and were all so lucky to live in this beautiful part of the world.
