An Initiative Taken By
The Police Team Of R
3 Ashok Nagar Police
Station Chennai
To serve the public with
more ideal way in West
Mambalam, the team of
R 3 Ashok Nagar Police
Station geared up and
installed 5 C C T V
units in Mahadevan
Street. In connection
to this a Police Booth
and 5 C C T V units
were inaugurated by
Deputy commissioner
Mr. P. Saravanan
B.E., T.Nagar District
in the presence of
Mr. V. Arumugham
M. A., Assistant
Commissioner of
Police, Mr. A. S. Aslam
Basha, Inspector of
R3 Ashok Nagar Police
station and residence
of Mahadevan street
besides from other
nearby streets.

Police highlighted
the importance of
the security systems
installed which will
help to save Accident
Vicitims and find more
information about the
victims and also to
control and nab hit and
run, chain snatching,
Jewel theft, vehicle
theft, house robbery
and mainly identify
the criminals. They
also appreciated the
support of residents to
come forward to help
police especially to
Mr.Rajendran, Director
of Chandrasekar
Builders Private
Limited to construct
the Police Booth worth
Rs.1.5 lakh and 5
cameras & 16 Channel
Digital Video Recorder
are sponsored by
KAMAKSHI HALL,
owned by vetran film
producer Pyramid V
Natarajan and the rest
11 Cameras are to be
placed by residents of
Mahadeven Street....
As this will add to
total of 60 cameras
totally installed in
WEST MAMBALAM
- the residents of
other streets also are
encouraged to engage
their contributions
towards placing CCTV
systems in their streets
to protect themselves
to an extent from the
theft activities..
We also thank to the
residents of Rukmani
Street, K. V.Colony,
Postal Colony 1,2 &
3, Gopalan Street for
providing some c c t
v security systems.
Soon we will take
immediate steps to
cover up entire West
Mambalam under C C
T V surveillance which
will lead to control
crimes. According to
Mr. V.Arumugham,

Commissioner of
Police, we also plan
to regular interaction
meet with the
members of residence
association in west
Mambalam which
will help the residents
to know about the
crime and criminals
and we also organise
this type of meeting
with all nearby school
students time to time
to create awareness.
We also request
and invite business
people, industrialists,
corporates residing
in and around west
Mambalam to come
forward to provide c c
t v security systems as
part of their corporate
social responsibilities.
The idea behind this
and implemented
by Mr. A. S. Aslam
Basha, Inspector of
R3 Ashok Nagar Police
station said, initially
we managed to install
5 C C T V units and
soon we will install
11 more c c t v units
in nearby streets at
West Mambalam. By
installing this units
West Mambalam
covered up with 60 C
C T V units in Station
Road, Five Lights and
nearby streets. At the
end of the C C T V
units inauguration
function the residents
went back their
home happily with
confidence while some
of the residence says
to other, about the
relationship with the
public and police are
so cool and friendly.
