Kidnapping (1st degree with a firearm), provided the courts makes a finding that the <strong>of</strong>fense was committed<br />

with the intent to sexually violate or abuse the victim - CONN. GEN. STAT. ANN. § 53a-92a (West 2010).<br />

Committing an <strong>of</strong>fense listed above for which a person can be criminally liable for the acts <strong>of</strong> another, or<br />

the attempt or conspiracy to commit one <strong>of</strong> the crimes listed above under CONN. GEN. STAT. ANN. §§53-a8,<br />

53a-48, 53a-49 (West 2010).<br />

(12) <strong>Sex</strong>ual purpose<br />

….a purpose <strong>of</strong> the defendant in committing the felony was to engage in sexual contact or sexual<br />

intercourse with another person without that person's consent. A sexual purpose need not be the<br />

sole purpose <strong>of</strong> the commission <strong>of</strong> the felony. The sexual purpose may arise at any time in the<br />

course <strong>of</strong> the commission <strong>of</strong> the felony.<br />

Staff Members, in their pr<strong>of</strong>essional capacity, who are convicted <strong>of</strong> sexual assault in the second degree are required<br />

to register as sex <strong>of</strong>fenders.<br />

CONN. GEN. STAT. ANN. § 53a-71(West 2010)<br />

<strong>Sex</strong>ual assault in the second degree<br />

(a) A person is guilty <strong>of</strong> sexual assault in the second degree when such person engages in sexual intercourse with<br />

another person and:<br />

(5) such other person is in custody <strong>of</strong> law or detained in a hospital or other institution and the actor has<br />

supervisory or disciplinary authority over such other person;<br />

CONN. GEN. STAT. ANN. § 54-252 (West 2010)<br />

<strong>Registration</strong> <strong>of</strong> person who has committed a sexually violent <strong>of</strong>fense<br />

(a) Any person who has been convicted or found not guilty by reason <strong>of</strong> mental disease or defect <strong>of</strong> a sexually<br />
