are light and robust. 

ALUCA is the successful product 

that has evolved from the 

idea of equipping service vans 

with lighter yet sturdy racking 

systems. This is why ALUCA developed 

a van racking system 

made 100% out of aluminium. 

This concept has been used continuously 

since the product was 

launched on the market in 1994 

and its success has been confirmed 

through the steadily rising 

demand for ALUCA’s products. 

It is only produced in Germany. 

An extensive sales network provides

industry and the craft and service 

sectors, both within Germany

Tools, measuring equipment, 

spare parts, consumables and 

other parts must be stowed 

away in the service van in a 

safe and organized manner. 

Ergonomics and loading regulations 

must be taken into account 

here by both the owner 

and driver of the service van, 

which generally also has to fulfil 

a dual role as a mobile workshop 

and a mini-warehouse. 

ALUCA’s van racking systems in 

aluminium provide maximum stability 

and offer the user the greatest 

possible payload weight. The 

extremely low weight of the actual 

units does not only have a 

positive effect on fuel use: it also 

improves passive safety for the 

van driver. 

Aluminium is known as a lightweight 

yet very sturdy material 

and is used successfully where 

low weight and strength is required. 

Aircraft manufacturers 

and companies that build highspeed 

trains have relied on this 

tried-and-tested material for 

decades. 

Although aluminium is extremely 

lightweight, if the material is 

of an appropriate thickness and 

processed correctly, it is as sturdy 

as steel. 

The main advantages of aluminium are: 

• Minimal weight 

• Resistance to corrosion 

• High strength 

• Stylish appearance 

• Excellent to recycle 

From ALUCA’s point of view the positive characteristics 

of aluminium form the basis of the unique van racking 

systems that offer the following advantages: 

• Weight saving of up to 50% compared to van racking 

made of steel or wood 

• Lower fuel consumption and less wear to the vehicle 

• Higher payload for more tools, spare parts or 

consumables “on board” 

• It looks good naturally without using paint or 

powder coatings 

• The product has an extremely long life and can be 

removed and installed in other vehicles, if it is 

handled correctly 

• Increases the passive safety for the driver of the 

service van

its visionary basic idea to supply 

lightweight and sturdy van racking

Lean-Design 

The multi-year product development 

plan for a new ALUCA 

system has been successfully 

implemented on the basis of the 

lean design philosophy. This procedure 

is based on strictly structured 

development processes 

which aim to reduce all kinds of 

unnecessary use of material and 

manpower – even before the 

product reaches the manufacturing 

plant. 

The development team at ALUCA 

is assisted through computer 

simulations and continuous load 

tests undertaken by Prof. Hans- 

Dieter Wagner at the prestigious 

Institute for Innovation and Integrated 

Product Development at 

the Steinbeis Transfer Centre at 

Heilbronn University of Applied 

Sciences. 

Dividers so space can be divided 

in different ways using the small 

grid. 

Shelf compartment base with a 

raised edge – for use with a flap 

or shelf bracket. 

Trough tray and floor flaps with 

locking bolts on the flaps. 

Shelf bracket for keeping lightweight 

goods securely in position. 

Shelf boxes made of high-grade 

plastic provide a perfect fit. 

Heavy-duty component pullouts

The extensive assembly aids facilitate 

the smooth and reliable 

installation of racking into every 

type of commercial vehicle. 

ALUCA’s specialist consultants 

will work with our customers on 

the key issues which need to be 

clarified if a transit van is to be 

transformed into a service vehicle. 

The ideal configuration for 

your vehicle racking is produced 

using the fully equipped demo 

vehicle and a rough plan is produced. 

All rough plans are recorded on 

a CAD system in ALUCA’s planning 

unit and checked for plausibility. 

The concepts are then incorporated 

into meaningful quotations 

and manufacturing plans 

are produced. 

It goes without saying that the 

specific features of certain vehicle 

types and the requirements 

of the craft or industry concerned 

are taken into account. 

The installation is always carried 

out by expert contractors who 

have been trained and certified 

by ALUCA. All units are installed 

in line with ALUCA’s installation 

guidelines.
