3. School Board Election – continued:
c. Authorizes the hours of election for Annual School Board Election, April 17,
2007, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM.
d. Authorizes judges of each election district to declare the opening and closing of
polls at the respective districts for the Annual School Board Election, April 17,
2007.
e. Authorizes the Secretary of the Board of Education to pay the prevailing rate of
$10.00 per hour for the services of election personnel and substitutes for the Annual
School Board Election, April 17, 2007.
4. The Board of Education approves the following resolution for fair distribution of State Aid
for Education:

RESOLUTION
2006-2007
Support of Efforts to Obtain A Fair Distribution of State Aid for Education and
Property Tax Payers
WHEREAS, the Jackson Township Board of Education, Ocean County, New Jersey, is
constitutionally responsible to deliver a thorough and efficient education for all
students of the school district; and
WHEREAS, the Jackson Township Board of Education has worked cooperatively with
the delegation from the Ninth (9 th ) Legislative District and similarly impacted
school districts throughout the State to establish a fair distribution of future state
aid by considering the aid history for the last six school years and adding
“transition aid” for the next six school years; and
WHEREAS, the legislators of the Thirtieth (30 th ) Legislative District are leading a
statewide Petition aimed at bringing a voice to New Jersey taxpayers on this issue
in an effort to have the school funding formula changed to provide substantial and
lasting property tax relief.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Jackson Township Board of
Education, Ocean County, New Jersey, that the Jackson Township Board of
Education does hereby express its support for all those working to obtain transition
aid for districts who have had an increase in regular and special education students
during the last six school years; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Jackson Township Board of Education does
hereby implore the Governor and the State of New Jersey and the legislature of the
State of New Jersey and all those who support proper and fair State funding to
work with a bipartisan dedication and conviction to resolve this most serious issue
of fair and equal state aid funding to education in the State of New Jersey; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Jackson Township School District fully
supports the efforts of the Ninth (9) and Thirtieth (30 th ) Legislative Districts in the
Delegation’s Resolution effort know as SJR-57 / AJR-129.
