3. <strong>School</strong> Board Election – continued:<br />
c. Authorizes the hours <strong>of</strong> election for Annual <strong>School</strong> Board Election, April 17,<br />
2007, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM.<br />
d. Authorizes judges <strong>of</strong> each election district to declare the opening and closing <strong>of</strong><br />
polls at the respective districts for the Annual <strong>School</strong> Board Election, April 17,<br />
2007.<br />
e. Authorizes the Secretary <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Education to pay the prevailing rate <strong>of</strong><br />
$10.00 per hour for the services <strong>of</strong> election personnel and substitutes for the Annual<br />
<strong>School</strong> Board Election, April 17, 2007.<br />
4. The Board <strong>of</strong> Education approves the following resolution for fair distribution <strong>of</strong> State Aid<br />
for Education:<br />

RESOLUTION<br />
2006-2007<br />
Support <strong>of</strong> Efforts to Obtain A Fair Distribution <strong>of</strong> State Aid for Education and<br />
Property Tax Payers<br />
WHEREAS, the <strong>Jackson</strong> Township Board <strong>of</strong> Education, Ocean County, New Jersey, is<br />
constitutionally responsible to deliver a thorough and efficient <strong>education</strong> for all<br />
students <strong>of</strong> the school district; and<br />
WHEREAS, the <strong>Jackson</strong> Township Board <strong>of</strong> Education has worked cooperatively with<br />
the delegation from the Ninth (9 th ) Legislative <strong>District</strong> and similarly impacted<br />
school districts throughout the State to establish a fair distribution <strong>of</strong> future state<br />
aid by considering the aid history for the last six school years and adding<br />
“transition aid” for the next six school years; and<br />
WHEREAS, the legislators <strong>of</strong> the Thirtieth (30 th ) Legislative <strong>District</strong> are leading a<br />
statewide Petition aimed at bringing a voice to New Jersey taxpayers on this issue<br />
in an effort to have the school funding formula changed to provide substantial and<br />
lasting property tax relief.<br />
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the <strong>Jackson</strong> Township Board <strong>of</strong><br />
Education, Ocean County, New Jersey, that the <strong>Jackson</strong> Township Board <strong>of</strong><br />
Education does hereby express its support for all those working to obtain transition<br />
aid for districts who have had an increase in regular and special <strong>education</strong> students<br />
during the last six school years; and<br />
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the <strong>Jackson</strong> Township Board <strong>of</strong> Education does<br />
hereby implore the Governor and the State <strong>of</strong> New Jersey and the legislature <strong>of</strong> the<br />
State <strong>of</strong> New Jersey and all those who support proper and fair State funding to<br />
work with a bipartisan dedication and conviction to resolve this most serious issue<br />
<strong>of</strong> fair and equal state aid funding to <strong>education</strong> in the State <strong>of</strong> New Jersey; and<br />
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the <strong>Jackson</strong> Township <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> fully<br />
supports the efforts <strong>of</strong> the Ninth (9) and Thirtieth (30 th ) Legislative <strong>District</strong>s in the<br />
Delegation’s Resolution effort know as SJR-57 / AJR-129.<br />
