The meals are rather expensive, but the good quality and the wonderful view of Berlin’s center make up for it. The address of the main library is: The University library includes: • the Hauptbibliothek (main library) Zentralbibliothek der TU Berlin (main library) VOLKSWAGEN-HAUS Fasanenstraße 88 10623 Berlin Mon - Fri 09:00 am- 08:00 pm Sat 10:00 am - 02:00pm www.ub.tu-berlin.de • the Abteilungsbibliotheken (departmental libraries) • the Dokumentationsstellen (document centers) The collection of approximately 2.11 million media units and 7.184 continuously held magazines are distributed among the Hauptbibliothek and departmental Abteilungsbibliotheken. The organization of the University library may be a little confusing to you: On the one hand, departmental libraries (Abteilungsbibliotheken) and document centers (Dokumentationsstellen) may be spread out in different places, on the other hand, there are a number of departmental and institute libraries which do not belong to the university library. We advise you to learn about the rules, the location and the opening hours of the specialized library at the Ortsausleihe of the Hauptbibliothek or at your department. During the summer holidays the library extends this period (please read the postings). It is not possible to extend the lending period or to reserve books if they are reserved by another student.
