SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY at NEW ORLEANS Annual Report 2009-2010
Greetings,
Southern University at New Orleans is pleased to present its 2009-10
Annual Report. We are proud of the numerous accomplishments of
our students, faculty, staff and alumni.
This report highlights many areas, including our efforts to prepare
for reaccreditation in March 2011 by the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools-Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). We
are also making great strides towards garnering accreditation from
the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business
(AACSB) International, and reaccreditation from the Council on
Social Work Education (CSWE).
Student life greatly improved last year with the opening of our Student
& Faculty Housing Facility. While significant progress was
made on completing our new Information Technology Center,
ground was broken for the College of Business & Public Administration
Building.
U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and New Orleans
own Lisa Jackson, President Barack Obama’s EPA Administrator,
were just two of several notable visitors who came to our
campus, and our alumni continue to make us proud in a variety of
fields.
Thanks again for your continued support of SUNO. I appreciate
your efforts in making 2009-10 another successful year.
