Admissions Requirements 

NEW STUDENTS must submit an application form and immunization form with a $20 

non-refundable application fee to the Office of Admissions. Online applications are $25. See 

online instructions at www.darton.edu under “Admissions.” 

BEGINNING FRESHMEN APPLICANTS must also provide a copy of their final high 

school transcript showing date of graduation or satisfactory scores on the GED examination. 

Compass placement test may be required. 

TRANSFER APPLICANTS (those who have previously attended another college) must 

provide official copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. 

SENIOR CITIZENS, 62 years of age or older and residents of Georgia, may enroll in courses 

on a “space available” basis without payment of fees, except for supplies or laboratory fees. 

FORMER DARTON STUDENTS who are not currently enrolled may seek readmission 

by calling (229) 317-6742 or by submitting an Application for Readmission to the Office of 

Registrar/Records. The application is available online at www.darton.edu under “Admissions.” 

This schedule is not an irrevocable contract. The College reserves the right to modify this class schedule 

and faculty assignment as circumstances make changes necessary.

Registration Procedures 

WEB REGISTRATION: Begins October 22 and closes with Late Registration 

To use the BANNER Web Registration System you must first see your advisor to complete 

an advising release form. If you have not completed this step, you will not have 

access to the Web registration system. Instructions on registering via the Web are located 

on the Web page at www.darton.edu under “Students” button click on Registration. 

PRE-REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: November 5-6, 2007 

Currently enrolled students may pre-register for Spring Semester during this week. 

Eligible students will be mailed a notice with their advisor’s name, office phone 

number, and location. Eligible students are strongly encouraged to pre-register to secure 

desired classes. The later a student waits to register – the higher the likelihood is that 

classes may be full. 

1. Students must contact their advisor to complete a registration form. 

a. Available appointment times will be posted at each advisor’s office. 

b. Advisors are available in the evenings by appointment on Monday and Tuesday only. 

c. Students may register by phone by calling their advisor during the following 

times: Nov. 5& 6 – 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm. 

2. Students who have pre-registered and must change their schedules due to incorrect 

classes may do so only on December 11. 

3. Fees are due by 5:00 pm on December 11. You can pay online, by mail, or in person. 

To pay online, go to http://online.darton.edu/dl_fees.htm, and to pay by mail, 

send a check or money order payable to Darton College with the bottom section of 

your bill. Do not send cash. If the bank returns your check, your classes will be cancelled 

and a returned check fee will be assessed. If a student’s schedule is purged, the 

next opportunity to register will be January 7, 2008. 

REGISTRATION: January 7, 2008 

Students who have not pre-registered will be mailed an invitation to register. 

1. Students must report to the designated location indicated on their invitation at their 

assigned time to begin registration. 

2. After registering with an advisor students will pick up their schedule/bill printout. 

3. Students may pick up a parking permit, if required. 

4. Students may then proceed to Financial Aid Processing or Fee Payment Processing. 

Fee payment or financial aid approval MUST be processed on this day. Cash, 

check, money order, Master Card or VISA can be used for payment. NOTE: 

Discover Card is not accepted. 

5. Those students paying the student services fee may have a student ID card made in 

the Student Center. 

LATE REGISTRATION: January 9, 2008 

Students who do not register on January 7 may register on January 9, 2008.

of arts and associate of science degrees, and certificates. The Center follows the 

Albany Campus’s academic calendar. 

All of the courses required for an associate’s degree in Business Administration, 

Education, Criminal Justice, General Transfer, and Early Childhood Education are 

offered at Darton College’s Cordele Center through a combination of face-to-face, 

video conferencing, and online classes. 

Students with any major can complete all of their core course requirements for 

most two-year and four-year college degrees. Since Darton College is part of the

Services Available at the Cordele Center 

Center staff is available to assist students throughout the application and 

registration, process. They also assist students with developing their academic 

plan, course selection, and solving any problems that may arise. 

Applications are available at the Center or online. Students are encouraged 

to apply for financial aid as early in the application process as possible. 

Students may also register for classes, buy books, and work on assignments in 

the Center’s computer lab. A learning lab provides resources that support 

math, English, reading, and Spanish classes.

Refunds 

The refund amount for students withdrawing from the institution shall be based on a pro-rata 

percentage determined by dividing the number of calendar days in the semester that the student 

completed by the total calendar days in the semester. The unearned portion shall be refunded up 

to the point in time that the amount equals 60 percent. Students that withdraw from the institution 

when the calculated percentage of completion is greater than 60 percent, are not entitled to a 

refund of any portion of institutional charges. After the late registration day each semester, students 

withdrawing from an individual course should see their academic advisors for assistance in 

OUT-OF-STATE 

completing the official drop form. No refunds are issued for dropping individual courses. 

Distance Learning Courses 

Online Classes are available to any Darton enrolled student with access to the Internet.

participating in online courses are available at the Web site. For all classes in Web CT Vista 

for Spring 2008, there will be a 24-48 hour waiting period following registration before

TV Classes are offered over Cable Channel 19 and are available to enrolled Darton 

students living within the Albany MediaCom viewing area. A videotape of each class is also 

available for viewing in the Darton College library for a period of two weeks following the 

original air date.

MAPP 

Graduation Requirement 

Taking the MAPP test, a Measure of Academic Proficiency and Progress, is a 

graduation requirement and should be taken during the semester of graduation. 

MAPP is a national assessment and provides Darton College with a comparison of 

our graduates’ performance with the performance of graduates from other two-year 

colleges. The testing schedule with open hours may be viewed at
