COMMENT
ON PARK PLAN
CALLED FOR
Ku-ring-gai residents are
being invited to comment
on a 10-year vision for
Wahroonga Park, and two
adjoining smaller parks,
McKenzie Park and 78
Coonanbarra Rd..
A draft landscape
masterplan detailing a host
of improvements to the
precinct is currently on
public exhibition.
Built in the 1920s, the
park has significant
heritage value as an
example of the ornamental
built landscape style
common in that era.
Proposed long-term
improvements include: a
playground upgrade to be
completed in 2013; a new
toilet block; new LED
lighting; new landscaping;
picnic shelters and
furniture and new path
networks to better link
facilities.
Several surveys of
residents, park users and
local businesses have
already been conducted
and feedback from the
public exhibition will be
considered as Council staff
prepare a final landscape
masterplan.
The draft masterplan is
available at www.kmc.
development. Despite
enquiries we were not
able to discover the
anticipated commencement
and completion
dates.
