The inaugural talk of <strong>the</strong> Society this year<br />
was given by a past First Prefect of <strong>the</strong><br />
School, Fr. John O'Holohan, Si., who is<br />
now working in Zambia. Much inspired by<br />
his conference, <strong>the</strong> boys undertook to raise<br />
£50 for equipment badly needed on <strong>the</strong><br />
Mission; and before he returned to Zambia<br />
<strong>the</strong> Committee were able to present him<br />
with a first instalment of £30. Also, mainly<br />
through Fr. O'Flolohan's agency, closer<br />
and more realistic links have been set up<br />
between Mission and School, through an<br />
exchange of letters, photos and tapes.<br />
Ano<strong>the</strong>r striking witness of <strong>the</strong> mission<br />
apostolate was Bishop Hayes, O.D.C., from<br />
Secretary: Anthony Murphy.<br />
Treasurer: Seamus Bruton.<br />
Assistants: Michael Creane, John Daly.<br />
Sicuani, Peru. He showed us a film of <strong>the</strong><br />
work carried on in his diocese and completed<br />
<strong>the</strong> picture in a short, good-humoured<br />
speech.<br />
Shortly before <strong>the</strong> end of second term<br />
we were honoured by <strong>the</strong> presence of <strong>the</strong><br />
Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland, Most Rev. Dr.<br />
McGeough, and Most Rev. Dr. Murphy,<br />
Bishop of Limerick. Both addressed us on<br />
<strong>the</strong> missionary contribution made by Irish<br />
men (some of <strong>the</strong>m <strong>Past</strong> <strong>Mungret</strong>) to <strong>the</strong><br />
world apostolate.<br />
Finally, thanks must go to all who helped<br />
organize, and to those who contributed<br />
generously to <strong>the</strong> Missions during <strong>the</strong> year.<br />

1st. A bad start for <strong>the</strong> month. Rain, rain, rain.<br />
5th. Rhetoric dancing classes have commenced,<br />
under <strong>the</strong> baton of Mrs. Twomey.<br />
801. Talent Competition in <strong>the</strong> Hall in aid of <strong>the</strong><br />
Mission Society. A great night's entertainment.<br />
13th. Masters' Reports. No comment.<br />
14th. Fr. M. Hurley, Si., visited us and spoke on<br />
Ecumertisni.<br />
15th. Under-16 Debate against Glenstal on Irish<br />
Language. We Won.<br />
16th. " We're in <strong>the</strong> Army now ' - new recruits<br />
and veterans attend this year's first ga<strong>the</strong>ring<br />
of <strong>the</strong> F.C.A.<br />
17th. Camera Club now well under way, with Mr.<br />

28th. Rainey Endowed School, <strong>the</strong> Ulster Cup<br />

1st, Break over: school refills with smiling faces.<br />

Symphony Orchestra play in town.<br />
6th. Bishop Hayes of Sequani, Peru, addressed us<br />

9th. Limerick vanquished Cork at Thoniond Park<br />
with <strong>the</strong> help of our 4 stalwarts.<br />
