A. Pastoral Care (Student Welfare)
The School seeks to provide a safe and supportive environment which:
• Minimizes risk of harm and ensures students feel secure
• Supports the physical, social, academic, spiritual and emotional development of students
• Provides student welfare policies and programs that develop a sense of self-worth and foster
personal development

• Pastoral care system Due to an anticipated major review to be
undertaken in 2010 the existing pastoral care
structure will be retained.

B. Student Discipline (Code of Conduct)
The school has replaced the one school counsellor
model in place in 2008 with 2 highly experienced
and qualified counsellors in 2009.
The school is moving away from the current two
Chaplains model to a one Chaplain model
supported by two assistant Chaplains/Youth
workers.
The refinements made to the student leadership
structure in 2008 have been implemented. These
changes related to the selection and roles and duty
statements of student leaders in the School to
increase their visibility and significance to
students and to assist staff in their duties outside of
the classroom.
A comprehensive review of the school leadership
‘purpose’ is being undertaken throughout 2009.
The review involves staff, students & parents as
well research to existing structures in other
schools. It is anticipated that a significantly more
purposeful leadership structure will be introduced
in 2010.

Students are required to abide by the school’s rules and to follow the directions of teachers, sports coaches,
student leaders, and other people with authority delegated by the school.
Where disciplinary action is required penalties imposed vary according to the nature of the breach of
discipline and a student’s prior behaviour.
