Sandringham Supreme Champion was Sarah Prior’s Sunnybrowe Jack
A festive air prevailed over Sandringham as the Midlands East Support Group
celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the 90 th anniversary of The Fell Pony
Society with a bumper entry at their show on 19 th May 2012. The show is held on
the beautiful Sandringham Estate by kind permission of HM The Queen. To
acknowledge Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee we had a picture display
representing her interest in our native breeds.
The Fells were joined this year by the Dales Pony Society and the Highland Pony
Enthusiasts Club, along with friends of all breeds. There was a large entry of
registered Fell youngstock with at least two colts entering their first show.
In the lunch break Mr Marcus O’Lone, the Queen’s agent at Sandringham, made
a speech on behalf of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh—the Society’s President—and
cut a cake to celebrate the Society’s 90 th anniversary. Mrs O’Lone was presented
with a bouquet of flowers. Mr O’Lone has supported our show on the Queen’s
behalf and supplied us with a wonderful venue and facilities over the last 10
years, for which we are very grateful.
