2012 Autumn - The Fell Pony Society

Deputy President’s Report
I have been privileged to be the Society’s President for two years, and now have
had the extra pleasure of being asked to continue as Deputy President for this
year during the Presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of
Edinburgh. We are all of us so grateful to have His Royal Highness as our President
during this very special year— a Special year, not only for the Fell Pony Society,
celebrating its 90th year, but also for our Patron, Her Majesty The Queen,
celebrating her Diamond Jubilee. We have congratulated her on her outstanding
achievement, and thank her and husband for their continued support of The Fell
Pony.
I am sure His Royal Highness will not mind if I say we are both gentlemen of
senior years, who have had health problems this year which have prevented us
from attending events we would have liked to attend.
With a purchase of my new ‘pony’ Linnel Speedy (for those who have not met
him - he has four wheels and electric power - wonderful action, but sadly lacks
feather!) I have managed to get about to a number of events up and down the
country, and enjoyed
talking and chatting to
many members.
The Convention Week was
a great success, drawing
people from near and far,
to enjoy and talk about
our wonderful ponies.
Even during these
financially hard times
your enthusiasm lasts.

test in the arena with Speedy. He got good marks for impulsion but as he competed
