4 <strong>Graz</strong>er sTadTmuseum (ciTy museum)<br />

<strong>The</strong> city museum documents the history <strong>of</strong> <strong>Graz</strong> from its earliest<br />

times up to the present. <strong>The</strong> centrepiece <strong>of</strong> the museum is the<br />

“Museumsapotheke”, a complete interior <strong>of</strong> a Biedermeier period<br />

pharmacy. Special exhibitions are held regularly in addition to the<br />

permanent collection.<br />

5 volkskundemuseum (folk life museum)<br />

<strong>The</strong> Folk Life Museum, housed in a former 17 th -century monastery,<br />

has been refurbished with great care using steel and glass. Its exhibits<br />

show how people have lived in this area throughout the centuries.<br />

<strong>only</strong> been the <strong>of</strong>ficial Cultural Capital <strong>of</strong> Europe for the space<br />

Another place not to be missed is the Museum <strong>of</strong> Perception, a real<br />

<strong>The</strong> glasshouses by renowned architect Volker Giencke with their<br />

University. <strong>The</strong>y are an important example <strong>of</strong> the flourishing contemporary<br />

architecture scene in <strong>Graz</strong>.<br />

(<strong>The</strong> children’s museum in <strong>Graz</strong>)<br />

<strong>The</strong> children’s museum in <strong>Graz</strong> has created a world entirely dedicated<br />

to children. Under the motto “Hands on – minds on”, Frida & Fred<br />

stages exhibitions with children for children. Beside the exhibitions,<br />

the museum also <strong>of</strong>fers a wide workshop and theatre programme.<br />

9 ÖsTerreichischer skulPTurenPark<br />

(ausTrian sculPTure Park)<br />

Situated in Unterpremstätten south <strong>of</strong> <strong>Graz</strong>, the Austrian Sculpture<br />

Park covers 7 green hectares. Over 50 works by Austrian and<br />

international artists are on display.<br />
