Exquisite white wines are maturing among the rolling hills of Southern
Styria. Let your palates enjoy a tasting opportunity in the 300-year-old
cellars of the Episcopal palace. Seggau itself is one of Styria’s most
impressive sights. After a break at a cosy tavern with Styrian chicken in
breadcrumbs, on we go to the pumpkin-seed-oil mill and later to a rustic
wine tavern with fantastic views over the surrounding vineyards and hills,
there to enjoy a hearty snack.

WhiTe horses and colourful churches
Embedded in the idyllic hilly landscape of Western Styria lies the village of
Piber, where breeding of the famous white horses for the Spanish Riding
School in Vienna is carried out and observed with particular dedication.
After the tour through the Federal stud, you will visit Bärnbach, a village
only a few kilometres away. The Barbara Church designed by the Austrian
painter Friedensreich Hundertwasser is unique in its kind. This excursion
is concluded with a snack at a typical local wine tavern.

In the heart of Eastern Styria a chance to learn everything about the
apple – and not without tasting. The way to a small chocolate manufacturer
passes through fruit orchards where, after the guided tour, the
“chocolate train” will steam past, whilst fruit from the chocolate fountain
wanders to your palate. After lunch the journey goes on to an oil mill.
Before the wine tasting and luscious snack at a wine tavern you will also
taste a specialty of this region – the Hirschbirne (pear).

The mighty fortress of Riegersburg looks down on the rolling hills of
Eastern Styria. It can be “conquered” either on foot via the centuriesold
“Eselssteig” path or in only 90 seconds via the diagonal lift on the
Northern side of the castle. After lunch you will certainly not be able to
resist the sweet temptation of Zotter’s chocolates. And please do also

aBove The roofs of Graz
Those passing through the old town enjoy an illustrated presentation
of everything from Romanticism to Art Nouveau, and can look down
from Schlossberg to a unique roofscape. Beneath them are romantic
alleys, Italianate palaces and proud private town houses. A castle which,
more than 1000 years ago, sat on a rock on the hill gave the city its name.
Still standing are a Bell Tower and the Clock Tower that serves as the
city’s friendly landmark. Enjoy the fabulous view accompanied by some

Back in 1999, thanks to its excellently preserved centre, the Old Town
of Graz was declared a UNESCO world cultural heritage site. The city
captivates visitors with an architectural mix of Roman and Gothic
buildings alongside very modern architecture (Kunsthaus, Murinsel).
In 2003 came the year as cultural capital and, since 2010, Schloss
Eggenberg has also been included in the list of world cultural heritage.
It is the largest and most important Baroque palace complex in Styria.

“Kwirl” and the multi-facetted world of ceramics at “Da Loam” to
