Exquisite white wines are maturing among the rolling hills <strong>of</strong> Southern<br />
Styria. Let your palates enjoy a tasting opportunity in the 300-year-old<br />
cellars <strong>of</strong> the Episcopal palace. Seggau itself is one <strong>of</strong> Styria’s most<br />

“chocolate train” will steam past, whilst fruit from the chocolate fountain<br />
wanders to your palate. After lunch the journey goes on to an oil mill.<br />
Before the wine tasting and luscious snack at a wine tavern you will also<br />

<strong>The</strong> mighty fortress <strong>of</strong> Riegersburg looks down on the rolling hills <strong>of</strong><br />
Eastern Styria. It can be “conquered” either on foot via the centuriesold<br />
“Eselssteig” path or in <strong>only</strong> 90 seconds via the diagonal lift on the<br />
Northern side <strong>of</strong> the castle. After lunch you will certainly not be able to<br />

Those passing through the old town enjoy an illustrated presentation<br />
<strong>of</strong> everything from Romanticism to Art Nouveau, and can look down<br />
from Schlossberg to a unique ro<strong>of</strong>scape. Beneath them are romantic<br />
alleys, Italianate palaces and proud private town houses. A castle which,<br />
more than 1000 years ago, sat on a rock on the hill gave the city its name.<br />
Still standing are a Bell Tower and the Clock Tower that serves as the<br />

Back in 1999, thanks to its excellently preserved centre, the Old Town<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>Graz</strong> was declared a UNESCO world cultural heritage site. <strong>The</strong> city<br />
captivates visitors with an architectural mix <strong>of</strong> Roman and Gothic<br />
buildings alongside very modern architecture (Kunsthaus, Murinsel).<br />
In 2003 came the year as cultural capital and, since 2010, Schloss<br />
Eggenberg has also been included in the list <strong>of</strong> world cultural heritage.<br />
It is the largest and most important Baroque palace complex in Styria.<br />

guide to the creative design scene, which brought a variety <strong>of</strong> interesting<br />
shops into being over recent years. <strong>Graz</strong> is home to well-known designers<br />
and brands. Amongst these: “Lena Hoschek”, the witty design shop<br />
“Kwirl” and the multi-facetted world <strong>of</strong> ceramics at “Da Loam” to<br />
mention but a few. Enjoy the conclusion <strong>of</strong> the tour at Schlossberg,<br />
which you reach via the “lift in the mountain”, with a drink that’s “in”<br />
and a view <strong>of</strong> the design city <strong>of</strong> <strong>Graz</strong>!<br />
