Gary Simmons, outstanding<br />

Vandal guard was awarded the<br />

Ronnie White most valuable a­<br />

ward presented by Ken Hunter.<br />

Gary, one <strong>of</strong> the top PCC guards,<br />

started the season early as he moved<br />

through the pre-conference schedule<br />

hitting his high point <strong>of</strong> the season<br />

with 32 against EWCE. Due to an<br />

injury, he did not play for over<br />

a month. He finished the PCC<br />

season with a record <strong>of</strong> 16.3 points<br />

a game, and set a PCC record.<br />

Gary broke the old record <strong>of</strong> Bill<br />

Bausher's 2 5 consecutive f r c e<br />

throws by making 26 throws. He<br />

should prove to be very valuable<br />

for next year's team.<br />

Simmons-Jorgenson Receive Most<br />

Valuable-Inspirational Awards<br />

Jerry Jorgenson is rece1vmg the<br />

Jay Gano trophy for the most<br />

inspirational award from Ken<br />

Hunter. J erry played no spectacular<br />

basketball through the year as<br />

he averaged 6.3 points per game in<br />

PCC competition. He is a good rebounder<br />

and a top defensive man<br />

and stayed on the starting five all<br />

year. The captain served as a<br />

steadying influence on the squad<br />

throughout the year.<br />
