four ver1 busy and active years <strong>of</strong> occomplishment<br />
oc the university by serving as Editor <strong>of</strong> the Gem<br />
her senior year. This outstanding education student<br />
worked her woy up to this top position<br />
-after acting as copy-writer, business manager and<br />
associate editor. As a member <strong>of</strong> Gamma Phi Beta<br />
Sorority, louise served as scholarship chairman<br />
for three terms and also -as standards chairman.<br />
Her long list <strong>of</strong> activities includes Homecoming<br />
and Frosh Orientation committees, Greek Caucus,<br />
KUOT, and Student Events Council. Honoraries<br />
<strong>of</strong> which louise is a member include Alpha<br />
l-ambda Ddta, Kappa Delta Pi, and Spurs. During<br />
her senior year, she was a member <strong>of</strong> Mortar<br />
Board and served on the publications board. She<br />
also acted efficiently 3S chairm-an <strong>of</strong> the May Fete.<br />
louise hos been an interested and effective ex<strong>of</strong>ficio<br />
member <strong>of</strong> the Executive Boud this year,<br />
and was also chosen as a campus citiun <strong>of</strong> the<br />
week.<br />
FRED H. BuRROW-Fred Ius been 3n outstanding<br />
major in extractive induStries. As :a junior, he<br />
acted as chairm-an <strong>of</strong> the Student Events Council<br />
afur serving in his sophomore year as an IK,<br />
heading the Homecoming halftime and dance<br />
committees, acting as chairm-an <strong>of</strong> the leadership<br />
3nd the traffic safety committees. His fine reputation<br />
os a leader and his co-oper3tion and<br />
abilities helped g-a:n for him a position on the<br />
Executive Board, along with the ASUT vice<br />
presidency. Fred hos been the instigotor <strong>of</strong> mony<br />
ASUI plans and projects ond he proved to be an<br />
extremely voluable member <strong>of</strong> the Executive<br />
Board. Distinguishing himself as • military student,<br />
he became a member <strong>of</strong> Scabbard ond Blade,<br />
and Eagle ond Anchor. In addition, he received<br />
the Army ROTC leadership Award. Fred also<br />
received the Wall Street Journal Award and wos<br />
tapped for Silver lance. His record <strong>of</strong> accomplishments<br />
is truly superior. Fred is a member <strong>of</strong><br />
Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.<br />
For the second consecutive year, ten students were chosen for the<br />
outstanding senior award. These seniors were selected by a committee<br />
composed <strong>of</strong> the ASUI General Manager, the Dean <strong>of</strong> Men, the Dean<br />
<strong>of</strong> Women, Alumni Secretary, and the junior members and faculty<br />
representative <strong>of</strong> che executive board. Twenty-five outstanding seniors<br />
were first chosen from a lise <strong>of</strong> students submitted by che Deans <strong>of</strong><br />
the various colleges. Then che committee selected from chis list the<br />
Top Ten Seniors. Dr. D. R. Thcophilus, <strong>University</strong> President, presented<br />
the awards ac che May Fete. The criteria <strong>of</strong> selection reseed upon che<br />
excellence <strong>of</strong> leadership, service co the school, and scholarship <strong>of</strong> the<br />
candidates. Evaluation was also made <strong>of</strong> their living group participation<br />
and attitude toward che university.<br />
Juov CROOKHAM-A music major who always<br />
has a song and a smile for everyone, Judy bas<br />
won many friends during her years at <strong>Idaho</strong>.<br />
Continually working on committees and serving<br />
her university and friends, Judy has developed a<br />
fine record <strong>of</strong> p;~rticipation. As a member <strong>of</strong> the<br />
<strong>University</strong> Singers, the Gem staff, and a worker<br />
for K UOT she earned her place among the Spurs.<br />
Judy also has worked diligently on Holly Week,<br />
Campus Chest, Greek Caucus, Frosh Orientation,<br />
and the Song Fest committees, and as Sophomore<br />
Class Treasurer. Her scholarship record is also<br />
outstanding. Judy is an Alpha lambda Delta<br />
and a Phi Beta Kappa. Other honoraries, including<br />
Sigma Alpha Iota, I Club, Vandaleers and<br />
Mortar Board, have claimed her for membership.<br />
In her living group, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Judy<br />
has served faithfully as activities chairman, Panhellenic<br />
Representative, song leader and house<br />
president.<br />
