The perfect answer for more drive. The driven<br />

planetary hub reducti<strong>on</strong> fr<strong>on</strong>t axles are in a class of<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir own: extremely heavy-duty, low weight, high<br />

efficiency and large ground clearance.<br />

Also ideal for all-wheel vehicles.<br />

You have a choice of first-class alternatives.<br />

<strong>MAN</strong> planetary hub reducti<strong>on</strong> fr<strong>on</strong>t axles come as a<br />

single driven axle and as a drive-through axle for a<br />

tandem fr<strong>on</strong>t axle, so that toge<strong>the</strong>r with <strong>MAN</strong><br />

Built for <strong>the</strong> <strong>road</strong> and off it: with <strong>the</strong>ir ample ground<br />

clearance, high tracti<strong>on</strong> power and extremely<br />

heavy-duty capability, <strong>MAN</strong> planetary hub reducti<strong>on</strong><br />

rear axles are <strong>the</strong> all-rounders am<strong>on</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />

axles. They are to be found working in commercial<br />

vehicles, buses and coaches of every kind.<br />

They can serve as a single driven axle and as a<br />

drive-through axle for axle tandems. Toge<strong>the</strong>r with<br />

driven <strong>MAN</strong> planetary hub reducti<strong>on</strong> fr<strong>on</strong>t axles,<br />

with drive-through and without, it is possible to<br />

Transfer cases<br />

All-round power for allwheel vehicles: <strong>MAN</strong> transfer<br />

cases deliver full power to all axles. With <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

well-balanced weight, compact c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> and<br />

high reliability <strong>the</strong>y dem<strong>on</strong>strate <strong>the</strong>ir superior<br />

capability in <strong>the</strong> most difficult c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

fitted to ensure l<strong>on</strong>g oil change intervals.<br />

Changing of <strong>the</strong> <strong>road</strong>/off<strong>road</strong> gear and of <strong>the</strong> differential<br />

lock is pneumatically driven, as is engaging<br />

and disengaging of <strong>the</strong> fr<strong>on</strong>t axle.<br />

<strong>MAN</strong> transfer cases come in versi<strong>on</strong>s with engageable<br />

and disengageable fr<strong>on</strong>t-axle drive or for<br />

permanent allwheel drive with speed compensati<strong>on</strong><br />

between fr<strong>on</strong>t and rear axle and pneumatic differential<br />

lock.<br />

<strong>MAN</strong> transfer cases are low in weight, and <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

installati<strong>on</strong> is simplified by an enlarged shaft spacing<br />

and smaller c<strong>on</strong>necting angle in <strong>the</strong> drive<br />

shaft. The optimized gearing and reinforcement of<br />

<strong>the</strong> case reduce <strong>the</strong> emissi<strong>on</strong> of noise. A filter is<br />

The gear wheels immerse in oil and lubricate all<br />

points in operati<strong>on</strong>. The power takeoff is lubricated<br />

by a built-in oil pump. The inside of <strong>the</strong> case features<br />

multi-lip shaft packing rings that are protected<br />

against damage from <strong>the</strong> exterior by a narrow air<br />

gap and extra metal rings with a labyrinth-like<br />

sealing effect.<br />

All transfer cases are designed for use with commercial vehicles. When used for o<strong>the</strong>r purposes, appropriate technical harm<strong>on</strong>izati<strong>on</strong> will<br />

be necessary. Maximum operating temperature is 120°C, shortterm (max. 30 minutes) 130°C. If <strong>the</strong> temperature rating is c<strong>on</strong>stantly<br />

exceeded because of high performance requirements or arduous c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s of operati<strong>on</strong>, an oil cooler (cooler package) is necessary.<br />
