The ORIGIN of the Company Mauritius Housing Corporation was formed in 1963 following the split of the then Mauritius Agriculture Bank under the Mauritius Housing Corporation Ordinance 1962 and was later governed by the Mauritius Housing Corporation Act 1974. M.H.C. LTD was incorporated as a public company on 12th December 1989 under the Companies Act 1989 and took over the operations of the Corporation in May 1990. The Company changed name twice: first to MHC LTD on 1st May 1991 and then to its present name Mauritius Housing Company Ltd on 18th February 1994. Over 40 years the institution has been serving the country with great dedication and helped about 60,000 families to become owner of a house. ANNUAL REPORT 2001 - 2002 6
