NEW DOCUMENTS 2015/2016<br />

Newly published: Guidance Document on eHealth in Wound Care<br />

eHealth in Wound Care - From conception to<br />

implementation is a new document aiming to support the<br />

wound care professionals’ interest and engagement in<br />

the development of eHealth solutions to benefit patients,<br />

health care professionals, and health care systems.<br />

The document includes an introduction to terminology, a<br />

method for evaluation of eHealth solutions, an overview<br />

of available evidence, a discussion about the barriers and<br />

facilitators for the use of eHealth in wound care, and a<br />

road map for implementation in clinical practice.<br />

The document is a joint publication by EWMA and the<br />

Australian Wound Management Association, and is<br />

developed in connection with the United4health project,<br />

www.united4health.eu.<br />

Published in April 2015 as an online supplement<br />

of the Journal of Wound Care.<br />

We are currently working on:<br />

Leg Ulcer Guidance Project<br />

EWMA has initiated the Leg Ulcer Guidance Project<br />

to address challenges related to the diagnosis and<br />

treatment of leg ulcers in Europe.<br />

The project will include the publication of updated<br />

recommendations for leg ulcer prevention, diagnosis,<br />

and treatment, taking into consideration the varying<br />

traditions for the organisation of leg ulcer treatment<br />

within Europe.<br />

The document will be developed in collaboration with<br />

the Australian Wound Management Association.<br />

Publication is planned for 2016.<br />

Document: Negative Pressure<br />

Wound Therapy (NPWT)<br />

This document will provide guidance,<br />

and assemble evidence and best<br />

practices for the use of NPWT. In<br />

addition, the document will explore<br />

the organisational aspects, patient<br />

perspectives, cross-sectorial use, and<br />

health economics.<br />

Publication is planned for 2016.<br />
