About ESPRAS:<br />

The National Societies of plastic surgery, from all over the world, are affiliated to the<br />

umbrella organisation, International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and<br />

Aesthetic Surgery, IPRAS. The aim of this organisation is to promote plastic surgery both<br />

scientifically and clinically, to further education, and to encourage friendship between<br />

physicians all over the world<br />

Title: Reconstructive surgery of wounds<br />

This session will provide an introduction to European Society of Plastic Reconstructive and<br />

Aesthetic Surgery (ESPRAS) and will be targeted to establish better communication<br />

between the two scientific societies ESPRAS and EWMA. Besides the organisational<br />

aspects, speakers will cover the topic of tissue reconstruction in wound management<br />

The session will cover the following topics:<br />

• UEMS, ESPRAS, EBOPRAS, and possible cooperation in the European Reference<br />

Network.<br />

• Flaps in reconstruction of wound and defects.<br />

• Prospective Evaluations of Outcome Measures in free-flap surgery.<br />

• Reconstruction of tissue in diabetic patients and difficult anatomical areas.<br />

• Evolution of the De<strong>part</strong>ment of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery in University<br />

Hospitals: is wound management an essential <strong>part</strong> of the curriculum?<br />
