A
woman was being tailgated by a stressed out man on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned
yellow just in front of her. She did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk even though she could
have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.
The tailgating man was furious and honked his horn, screaming in frustration as
he missed his chance to get through the intersection, dropping his cell phone and
spilling his coffee. As he was still in midrant, he heard a tap on his window and
looked up into the face of a very serious police officer.
The officer ordered him to exit the car with his hands up. He took him the
police station where he was searched, finger printed, photographed, and placed
in a holding cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and
opened the door. He was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting
officer was waiting with his personal effects. He said “I’m very sorry for the
mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn,
flipping off the person in front of you, and cussing a blue sreak at her. I
noticed the Masonic Square and Compass sticker, the “2 B 1 Ask 1”
bumper sticker and the Shrine Emblem on the trunk. Naturally,
I assumed you had stolen the car” Remember your Masonic
teachings in the world with out.

As we start to prepare for summer let us all make a concerted effort, to not only attend our Palm
Springs Ceremonial but to bring in new candidates.
This Ceremony, being held in Palm Springs is the ideal place to have it, not only does it let the new
members from the Inland Empire, get the feeling of what we as Shriners do, it gives them the
chance to see that Shriners, no matter where in Southern California wants the message to
get out that we care about the Children and support our Hospitals.
Plan on spending the weekend in this beautiful area of Southern California.
There are great activities to take advantage off, the weather at this time of year is perfect,
make theextra effort, to come down and show your support for the new Candidates, your
Potentate, your fellow Nobles in Palm Springs, surrounding areas and most importantly
your support for Shriners Hospital for Children.
Stand Tall let the World know what we as Shriners do and remember our pleasure in
life is seeing the smiles on children we have helped.
Look forward to meeting with you and your Candidate or Candidates on
Saturday May 14th 2011.
