<strong>Sonata</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Flute</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Cello</strong> is a one movement work in several sections,<br />
nearly all of which employ an imitative <strong>and</strong> quasi-canonic relationship between<br />
the two instruments. Like many of <strong>Rosner</strong>’s early works, the piece explores extensive<br />
use of idiosyncratic modal scales <strong>and</strong> patterns<br />
