SUB : Use of GPS based Fogsafe device on Electric locos I EMUs.<br />
Ref : Boards' letter of even no. dated 06.08.2010<br />
Board, vide letter under reference, advised the approval of<br />
Board (ML, MM, MT /CRB) for use of Fogsafe device on electric locos on<br />
Zonal Railways where train operation is affected due to fog.<br />
Subsequently, considering the fact that duties of Loco Pilots are more<br />
strenuous on automatic si~naling territory particularly during fog which is<br />
seasonal, It was decided to deploy Fogsafe devices on Electric locos I EMUs,<br />
in limited quantities on NR, NCR and WCR on priority.<br />
As more experience is required for firming up specification for a reliabile<br />
product before large scale proliferation, use of Fogsafe device will be limited on<br />
NR, NCR & WCR in the initial phase.<br />
Based on evaluation reports, further action will be advised.<br />
Railways may take necessary action accordingly.<br />
