AHRI makes life better through education. AHRI co-hosted the AHR Expo in Chicago, January 23-25, which attracted more than 57,000 people. AHRI’s Spring Meeting was held May 9-11 in Arlington, Va., and welcomed more than 300 members. An Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology Institute-completed research project, Performance Standards for Walk-in Refrigerator and Freezer Systems, concluded an extensive investigation of walk-in cooler and freezer refrigeration load profiles and refrigeration system performance as a function of the ambient dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperatures surrounding the walk-in and its condensing unit. ❶ ❷ ❶ Political analyst Charlie Cook provided an insider’s look at the national political landscape during the AHRI Annual Meeting in Palm Springs, Calif. ❷ Rees Program Director and AHRI Certification Manager Marc Neufcourt spoke to students at San Joaquin Valley College about the Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr. Scholarship Foundation, prior to presenting scholarship checks to four students. 14
More than 12,000 bills floundered in the 112th Congress while AHRI’s bill, H.R. 6582, passed both the House and Senate, and was signed into law by President Obama.
