Associa on with IIPT:<br />

SVIMS is associated with International Institute of Peace Through Tourism(IIPT) for its International Immersion program<br />

this year. Our students had been to South Africa as a part of this initiative and attended an International Symposium<br />

conducted by IIPT and were able to interact with international dignitaries like Ms.Nandi Mandela, grand daughter of<br />

Mr.Nelson Mandela and Mrs.Naomi King, Sister in law of great Martin Luther King, Jr. and<br />

Dr.Taleb Rifai, Secretary General UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).Our students also<br />

visited world's richest gold mine, First National Bank Stadium(FNB), Orlando Power Station,<br />

Lesedi African Cultural Village as a part of this international immersion program.<br />

SVIMS has recently signed a MOU with IIPT CCU (IIPT's Consortium of Collaborating Universities) Recently IIPT INDIA<br />

launched the educational initiative in tourism and hospitality, "Educators Network Forum" (ENF), at SVIMS which was<br />

inaugurated by chief guest Mrs. Valsa Nair Singh, Secretary - Tourism, Government of Maharashtra and<br />

Dr Sitikantha Mishra, Chairman, Board of Tourism & Hospitality Studies, AICTE. The IIPTI Educators Network Forum<br />

is part of IIPT's global Consortium of Collaborating Universities which seeks to facilitate student exchange<br />

programs and faculty interaction amongst the 22 international universities that currently comprise it.<br />

Coming year the International Immersion program is planning to cover New York( UN General Assembly) and Columbia.<br />

Harvard Business School Field 2 at SVIMS<br />

A team of 6 Harvard Business School students visited Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies & Research,<br />

Wadala, Mumbai on 7th January 2015. They were in Mumbai as a part of their Field 2 immersion program. In the<br />

Field Immersion Experience for Leadership Development (FIELD) -2 program the first year HBS students are required<br />

to visit emerging markets like India and develop a new concept or product. At SVIMS they met students from<br />

various management colleges from Mumbai. Also they had a fruitful discussion with a group of first year MMS<br />

students from SVIMS on various topics.
