Associa on with IIPT: SVIMS is associated with International Institute of Peace Through Tourism(IIPT) for its International Immersion program this year. Our students had been to South Africa as a part of this initiative and attended an International Symposium conducted by IIPT and were able to interact with international dignitaries like Ms.Nandi Mandela, grand daughter of Mr.Nelson Mandela and Mrs.Naomi King, Sister in law of great Martin Luther King, Jr. and Dr.Taleb Rifai, Secretary General UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).Our students also visited world's richest gold mine, First National Bank Stadium(FNB), Orlando Power Station, Lesedi African Cultural Village as a part of this international immersion program. SVIMS has recently signed a MOU with IIPT CCU (IIPT's Consortium of Collaborating Universities) Recently IIPT INDIA launched the educational initiative in tourism and hospitality, "Educators Network Forum" (ENF), at SVIMS which was inaugurated by chief guest Mrs. Valsa Nair Singh, Secretary - Tourism, Government of Maharashtra and Dr Sitikantha Mishra, Chairman, Board of Tourism & Hospitality Studies, AICTE. The IIPTI Educators Network Forum is part of IIPT's global Consortium of Collaborating Universities which seeks to facilitate student exchange programs and faculty interaction amongst the 22 international universities that currently comprise it. Coming year the International Immersion program is planning to cover New York( UN General Assembly) and Columbia. Harvard Business School Field 2 at SVIMS A team of 6 Harvard Business School students visited Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies & Research, Wadala, Mumbai on 7th January 2015. They were in Mumbai as a part of their Field 2 immersion program. In the Field Immersion Experience for Leadership Development (FIELD) -2 program the first year HBS students are required to visit emerging markets like India and develop a new concept or product. At SVIMS they met students from various management colleges from Mumbai. Also they had a fruitful discussion with a group of first year MMS students from SVIMS on various topics.
ADMISSION PROCESS Candidates seeking admission to MMS course should be Graduate of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognizes by the Association of Indian Universities(AIU) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate(45%) in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories of Maharashtra State only. Candidates should have appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MH-MBA/MMS- CET 2014)conducted by DTE or CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT or AMMI and should have obtained the requisite score. (1) Cap Round: Register by verification of documents by ARC ( SVIMS is also an ARC) and while filling up the option form choose Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management S t u d i e s a n d R e s e a r c h a s y o u r institute of choice by selecting SVIMS DTE Code- MB 3419 in block number 1 a s y o u r p r e f e r r e d c h o i c e . (2) Linguistic Kannada Minority (Kannada, Tu l u , K o n k a n i & K o d a v a s p e a k i n g ) have to apply by contacting our office directly. For Institute level and also for seats against CAP Vacancy candidates will have to apply by contacting our office. SVIMS intake capacity is 120 (Two batches of 6 0 e a c h ) a n d b e i n g a l i n g u i s t i c m i n o r i t y institution SVIMS has reserved certain no. of seats for students whose mother tongue is Kannada, Konkani, Tulu or Kodava. SVIMS also has certain Institutelevel seats . These seats are filled by the Institute on the basis of Merit. The fees for CAP round, institute level and Kannada linguistic minority seats is same and is based on the tuition anddevelopment fees decided by Shikshan Shulk Samiti of Government of Maharashtra State. The reserve category candidates will be eligible for scholarships or freeships by the Government on timely submission of appropriate documents. This course not only trains students hands on in different HR processes, it also trains them practically how IT applications are used to make HR processes more efficient. Decision Making and Problem Solving Skill Development Course by Quimpro Consultants Pvt.Ltd. which is a consultancy firm and developer of intellectual properties in Quality, Excellence and best practices and is conducted by Mr.Suresh Lulla, a well known Quality Guru. This course empowers students with various tools for decision making and problem solving which are most sought after skills by corporate today. Google Learning Management System First time in Mumbai the futuristic learning ecosystem is provided to MMS students by SVIMS in collaboration with Google.
