Philosophy Statement:<br />
The goal of Montessori education is<br />
to instill in the child a love of<br />
learning, self confidence <strong>and</strong> respect<br />
for others. The program offers<br />
activities <strong>and</strong> experiences that are challenging, enjoyable <strong>and</strong> age<br />
appropriate which promote the curriculum through the child’s best<br />
way of receiving it, that is, through play, freedom of choice <strong>and</strong><br />
freedom of movement. <strong>Child</strong>ren learn to respect others because<br />
they are respected. Cooperation rather than competition is<br />
stressed <strong>and</strong> the concrete materials help them to underst<strong>and</strong><br />
concepts rather than memorizing facts.<br />
