George Bernard Shaw called Dubrovnik “The Pearl of the Adriatic” when he visited here 

in the 1930s and Dubrovnik is still popular with Irish visitors to this day. With its uniquely 

preserved medieval walls, brilliant sunshine, translucent waters and dramatic mountains, 

the Dubrovnik Riviera is a unique holiday experience that lives up to its reputation as a 

premier destination. We base our holiday in the beautiful seaside town of Cavtat , set in a 

picturesque bay and harbour, and only 12 miles from Dubrovnik. Our flights from Belfast 

make this holiday a really relaxing break on the Adriatic. 

Wed 23rd: Letterkenny – Belfast – Dubrovnik – Cavtat, Croatia 

This morning we travel to Belfast Airport for our flight to Dubrovnik. Once in Croatia we make 

the very short journey to the charming and relaxing seaside resort of Cavtat, our base for the 

next 7 nights.

Two Excursions Included (Medjugorje & Old Town, Dubrovnik) 

Once a Greek colony, the inhabitants of Cavtat (Epidaurus) founded Dubrovnik in the 7th 

Century. Today the traditional seaside town is a delightful resort set in a picturesque bay and 

harbour and the tree-lined promenade has many pleasant cafes, restaurants, bars and gift 

shops. Close to the airport and Dubrovnik (20km), it is served by a local bus service. Cavtat is 

a pleasant mixture of ancient cultures and modern amenities, and continues to be extremely 

popular with Irish visitors. Our local rep will be on hand to help you and advise you on all 

local attractions and activities. 

We have included a half day guided tour of the Old Town in Dubrovnik and a full day 

excursion to the famous pilgrimage sight of Medjugorje.

This afternoon we arrive in the beautiful city of Wroclaw, where we will be based for 2 nights. This 

is a unique and fascinating city of 12 islands and 112 bridges, built on the Odra River. 

Mon 16th: Free Day in Wroclaw – Optional City Tour 

A leisurely day in Wroclaw, one of the oldest & most beautiful cities in Poland. 

Tues 17th: Wroclaw – Auschwitz - Zakopane 

Today we continue through Poland to Zakopane, right in the Southern corner, on the border 

of Slovakia. En route we visit Auschwitz Concentration Camp where we reflect on the poignant 

memories of war. 

Wed 18th: Free Day in Zakopane 

Zakopane, set at the foot of the Tatra Mountains is Poland’s premier holiday resort. Enjoy a stroll 

through the charming town centre with it’s traditional wooden houses, or perhaps take a cable car 

or railway trip into the mountains. 

Thurs 19th: Day Trip to Krakow 

A full day to Krakow, the former Polish capital and one of the most popular city break destinations 

in Europe. 

Fri 20th: Zakopane – Dresden, Germany 

We return through Poland to Dresden, a city badly damaged during WWII, but now beautifully 

restored. 

Sat 21st: Dresden – Kassel, Germany 

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Dresden. This afternoon we travel West to Kassel – ‘The Capital of the 

German Fairy-Tale Route’ and home of the Brothers Grimm. 

Sun 22nd: Kassel - Rotterdam 

Today we have an easy start to the day before making our way to Rotterdam for our overnight 

sailing. 

Mon 23rd: Hull – Cairnryan – Larne - Letterkenny 

From Hull we drive to Cairnryan. We arrive back in Letterkenny at approx. 8:30pm exhilarated by 

our experience of exploring Poland.

We cross the Irish Sea and travel to Hull to catch our overnight luxury cruise ferry. 

Mon 6th: Rotterdam – Karlsruhe, Germany 

We travel through Holland, crossing into Germany to our overnight hotel near Karlsruhe. 

Tues 7th: Karlsruhe – Fieberbrunn, Austria 

We travel south, into the Magical Alps, & follow the River Inn into Austria. We arrive at our 

hotel, a 12th century castle, now a 4 star hotel overflowing with charm and character. 

Wed 8th: Fieberbrunn – Kitzbuhel – St Johann 

A leisurely local excursion to Kitzbuhel, a truly charming tyrolean village with pedestrianised 

streets, historic buildings, & unlimited stylish shops and cafés. The village lies in the shadow 

of the mighty Kitzbuhelerhorn, which stands at almost 6600 feet. 

Thurs 9th: Day Trip to Salzburg 

Today we visit the home of “The Sound of Music” and the birthplace of “Mozart”. After a 

guided tour of the city you will have time to stroll through the narrow streets, soak up the 

culture, or enjoy a spot of shopping. 

Fri 10th: Day Trip on Grossglockner High Alpine Pass 

Prepare to be amazed as we travel through the alpine peaks of Grossglockner – Austria’s 

highest mountain, reaching 3,798m. 

Sat 11th: Day Trip to Swarovski Crystal World and Innsbruck 

We visit the amazing Swarovski Crystal factory before continuing to Innsbruck, “Capital” of 

the Tyrol, and a traditional host of the winter olympics. Here you can wander through the 

pedestrianised town centre and catch a glimpse of the famous ‘Little Golden Roof’. 

Sun 12th: Fieberbrunn – Boppard, Germany 

Today we leave Austria and cross the border back into Germany. Tonight we are based in the 

outstanding Bellevue Hotel in the beautiful resort of Boppard on the banks of the Rhine. 

Mon 13th: Boppard - Rotterdam 

We enjoy a leisurely morning in this beautiful Roman town on the Rhine before travelling 

back through Northern Germany to Rotterdam for our overnight sailing to Hull. 

Tues 14th: Hull – Cairnryan – Larne - Letterkenny 

We make our way home, arriving in Letterkenny at approx. 8:30pm with fond memories, new 

friends and stories to tell about the remarkable sights on this truly wonderful tour.

This morning we bid farewell to the romantic city and board the high-speed Eurostar train 

and make the 2 1/2 hr journey to London where our coach will meet us. In London you can 

hit the shops on Oxford Street, visit a museum, or join us for a guided city tour followed by 

free time. Tonight we stay in Watford, just north of London.

This morning we take a leisurely drive past the home of William Wordsworth before

Thur 2nd: Esholt (Emmerdale) - Free Time in Harrogate 

Today we visit the nearby village of Esholt, used for the exterior filming of “Emmerdale”. 

The village is no longer used for filming as the crew have now moved to a purpose built 

set, but the village is still popular with fans wanting to see the pub formally used as 

the Woolpack, and other buildings associated with the series. Today we also enjoy 

some free time in Harrogate. Why not treat yourself to one of the famous Turkish Baths, 

relax in the Valley Gardens, visit the Victoria Shopping Centre, or enjoy a cuppa in the 

famous Betty’s Tea Room?

We travel back to Gretna Green and across to Stranraer to get the ferry back to Belfast.

Today we visit the nearby town of Warwick, and one of the best medieval castles in

enjoying the jousting and falconry displays. We also have time to enjoy a stroll through 

the town and perhaps visit the beautiful St Mary’s Church and admire the town’s Tudor

From Holyhead we make the short journey through Anglesey before crossing the Menai

Sat 1st: llanberis Pass – Betws-y-Coed – Portmeirion 

We start the day in the village of Llanberis, set at the foot of Snowdon. Many visitors 

take the steam train up the mountain or visit the Electric Mountain Museum. We then 

travel over the spectacular Llanberis Pass, noted for it’s rugged beauty and scattered 

slate mines, before arriving in the quaint village of Betws-y-Coed. This afternoon we 

also stop in the holiday town of Portmeirion, perfect for a spot of souvenir shopping! 

Sun 2nd: Chester – Llandudno 

We start our day with a visit to the Roman City of Chester., a small city overflowing 

with charm and olde time character. Some of the main sights here include the Eastgate 

Clock, the famous Rows and the City Walls. On our return journey we have some time 

in Llandudno, North Wales’ premier seaside town, with it’s traditional promenade and 

Victorian pier. For a fantastic view, take a ride on the cable car to the top of the Great 

Orm. 

Mon 4th: Caernarfon – Holyhead – Dublin - Letterkenny 

We leave Caernarfon and stop at Pringle’s Weavers in the little village with the longest 

name, llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogochuchaf. We catch 

the afternoon ferry to Dublin and make our way back to Letterkenny.

Blackpool Tower, where we can travel 518ft to the glass floor at the top or perhaps take a 

waltz around the magnificent tower ballroom.

A Sunday morning at leisure in Blackpool. In the afternoon we have the option of a visit to

Mon 23rd: Day Trip to Achill 

Today we have a day tour along the northern shore of Clew Bay before crossing the 

causeway to Achill Island, the largest island off the Coast of Ireland. The island is 

dominated by two peaks, Slievemore and Croghaun, and is home to Kildavnet Castle, 

associated with Granuaile (Grace O’Malley) the famous “Pirate-Queen of the West”.

Tues 24th: Free Day in Westport 

A day at our leisure to explore this cheerful, lively town with it’s multi-coloured shop

Sat 27th: Free Day in Westport – or – Day Trip to Achill 

A day at your leisure to explore the bustling streets of Westport, maybe do a spot of 

shopping, or enjoy a walk in the beautiful grounds of Westport House. For anyone who 

would prefer to sit back and be chauffeured, we have a day tour along the northern shore 

of Clew Bay before crossing the causeway to Achill Island, the largest island off the Coast 

of Ireland. The island is dominated by two peaks, Slievemore and Croghaun, and is home to 

Kildavnet Castle, associated with Granuaile (Grace O’Malley) the famous “Pirate-Queen of 

the West”. We return to our hotel with time to relax, enjoy dinner, and another lively night 

of dancing.

After a leisurely morning we leave Westport and return home, humming tunes from the

Innsbruck at Christmas time is one of the most romantic and magical destinations in the 

entire Alpine region. The town itself is known as the ‘Capital’ of the Tyrol region and is a 

traditional host of the winter olympics. The town hosts a selection of markets, ranging 

from the beautifully decorated stalls of the Traditional Christmas markets in the Old 

Town selling ornaments, handcrafts, and stocking fillers, to the Panoramic Markets on 

Hungerburg Hill, reached by funicular railway, providing breathtaking views together 

with a wide range of culinary delights and Christmas souvenirs. 

Fri 23rd: Letterkenny – Dublin – Munich – Innsbruck, Austria 

This morning we travel to Dublin Airport for our early morning flight to Munich. We then 

enjoy a beautiful 2 hour drive through the Inn Valley, with spectacular views of the 

snow-covered Alps, to our hotel in Innsbruck. 

Sat & Sun: Two Free Days to Spend at Leisure in Innsbruck 

We have two full days in Innsbruck, full of advent tradition and atmosphere. Perhaps 

visit the carved manger in the Old Town with it’s life size figures, admire the Christmas 

lights glistening over the town’s most famous sight – the “little golden roof”, or indulge 

in some freshly made ‘kiachin’ (piping hot doughnuts laced with sauerkaut) while 

warming our hands with a cup of ‘gluhwein’ (mulled wine). 

Mon 26th: Innsbruck – Munich - Dublin - Letterkenny 

Today we leave this magical Alpine scene and fly back to Dublin airport, where the 

coach will meet us and bring us back to Letterkenny. We arrive home with warm

Belfast city centre, or two days in Belfast, this trip offers a fantastic variety of shops with 

something to suit everyone. For our overnight stay we are pleased to say we are based 

in the Europa Hotel, right in the centre of Belfast. 

Sat 1st: Letterkenny – Junction One – Europa Hotel, City Centre 

Our 9.00am departure from Letterkenny sees us arrive at Junction One just after 

10.30am to begin our weekend shopping. Later this afternoon we make the short 

journey to our city centre hotel. 

Sun 2nd: Belfast - Letterkenny 

Today, why not enjoy a leisurely start to your Sunday morning before taking to the 

shops along Royal Avenue and of course the Castlecourt Shopping Centre. If you have 

had enough shopping, a tour on the “City Sightseeing Bus” is well worth doing, taking 

in the best of Belfast from Stormont, Titanic Quarter, The Shankill and The Falls to name 

but a few. We leave Belfast at 6.00pm to arrive back in Letterkenny at 8.00pm.

A 3 day tour to Scotland’s premier agricultural show. This year’s exhibitions will include 

show jumping, shearing, sheep show, falconry, sheep dog displays, fly casting, gun 

dog display, sailing, bagpipe making, saddlery & leatherwork, taxidermy, fine lace 

knitting, willow weaving, army assault course, 4x4 driving range, to name but a few. 

The show is held in Ingliston, just outside Edinburgh. Our hotel is the ‘Premier Inn 

George’s Square’ in Glasgow City Centre, approximately a one hour drive to the show. 

Fri 22nd: Letterkenny - Belfast - Cairnryan - Glasgow 

We travel by fast ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan, before continuing to our hotel by 

George’s Square, right in the centre of Glasgow. While here why not make the most of 

this bustling city or meet up with friends or relatives? 

Sat 23rd: Full day at Royal Highland Show 

After breakfast we will make our way to Ingliston where you will have a full day to enjoy the 

many attractions at the show. 

Sun 24th: Half Day at Show or Edinburgh - Cairnryan - Belfast - Letterkenny 

Today you can spend another half day at the show or take in the sites of Edinburgh

Wed 26th: Full Day at National Ploughing Championships 

We will have the full day to wander through the many stalls, exhibitions, and 

competitions, before we return to the hotel for our second night. 

Thurs 27th: Waterford - Letterkenny

The Balmoral Show is held annually in the Kings Hall Showgrounds, Belfast. This year’s show 

will offer its usual extravaganza of colour, competition and showmanship along with daily 

displays of pedigree horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, poultry, pigs and goats. 

Hundreds of trade stands will be spread throughout the showgrounds, offering visitors a 

wide range of products from organic foods, holidays and leisure products to agri machinery, 

equipment and 4x4 vehicles. 

Wed 16th: Letterkenny – Balmoral Show, Belfast – Letterkenny 

We depart Letterkenny early morning and arrive at the Kings Hall at approximately 10am for 

a full day at the show.This evening we make our way back to Letterkenny. 

The Ould Lammas Fair takes place in Ballycastle, Co. Antrim on the last Monday and Tuesday 

in August. It’s one of the oldest fairs in Ireland and has been held without interruption for 

more than three centuries. Within the town, streets are lined with more than 400 stalls selling 

a wide variety of goods, from livestock to painted scrolls. But the busiest trade is always at 

the stalls offering the traditional Lammas treats of Yellow Man, a sticky honeycomb toffee; 

and Dulse, a reddish sea weed of the variety ‘palmaria palmata’ which has long been eaten 

and also used in medicine by the Irish - especially in the north. 

Mon 27th: Letterkenny – Ballycastle, Co Antrim – Letterkenny 

We depart Letterkenny early morning and arrive in Ballycastle at approximately 10am for a 

full day at the fair. This evening we make our way back to Letterkenny.
