big hall at the Municipality Building.

Stara Planina Fest “Balkan Folk 2012” in VT
Big Horo (Bulgarian folklore dance) at 6.30 pm around
“Mother Bulgaria” monument
8th May (Tuesday) - a free musical concert in the
Great Hall ( Големия салон на НЧ „Братство-1884)
in Pavlikeni at 6.30pm, featuring students from Sofia,
celebrating a united Europe.
9th May (Wednesday) – Good Food Fair at Camping
Veliko Tarnovo, Dragizhevo 12.00pm – 2.00pm.
British and International food and drink on sale with
the café bar open.
9th May (Wednesday) – a comedy play by Francis
Berbier in the Great Hall ( Големия салон на НЧ
„Братство-1884) in Pavlikeni, at 7.00pm. Tickets from
4 to 6 leva.
9th May (Wednesday) – The Ugly Duckling: a musical
for children in the DMU 10.40
10th May (Thursday) – in Pavlikeni – Celebration
of the 136th anniversary of the April Uprising. A
programme including the laying of wreaths in the
main square at 8.00am, a choir concert at 7.00pm, a
torchlit procession at 8.00pm followed by fireworks.
All centred around the main square.
10th May (Thursday) – Stara Planina Fest “Balkan
Folk 2012” in VT – in Marno Pole park from 10.00am
onwards
10th May (Thursday) – 6.00pm – a brass band concert
in the Marno Pole park
12th May (Saturday)
Clean up Bulgaria Day: get out and get clearing
rubbish around your area! Check with your local town
hall for events in your village or town. There is an
event taking place at Preobrazhenie Monastery on the
Ruse road, about 6km north of VT.
Musina, from 7:00pm, A celebration of the 136th
anniversary of the April Uprising. Includes a torchlit
parade, concert band and fireworks
13th May (Sunday)

14th May (Monday)
Stara Planina Fest “Balkan Folk 2012” in VT – Big
Horo (Bulgarian folklore dance) at 6.30 pm around
“Mother Bulgaria” monument
19th May (Saturday) – Humour Carnival / Festival of
Humour – Gabrovo. A massive celebration with floats
and parades … the preceding week is packed with beer
festivals, music concerts and more.
26th May (Saturday) – Car Treasure Hunt to raise
funds for the It’s a VT Knockout and therefore
equipping ambulances. 10 leva per car. Meet at
Camping Veliko Tarnovo at noon sharp!

27th May (Sunday) - Car Boot Sale at Camping Veliko
Tarnovo, Dragizhevo
09.00 am to early afternoon. BBQ grill will be serving
home-cured bacon, home made sausages and burgers.
The café bar will be offering a delicious selection of
cakes and pastries along with hot and cold beverages.
1st June (Friday) – Quiz Night to raise fund for It’s a
Knockout and in turn to equip local ambulances. From
5.30pm, venue to be confirmed in central VT. Only 10
leva per team of 4, plus a raffle. Watch this space, check
