supported Spring Benefit.
More than $289,000 was raised!
A splendid time was had by
all! We deeply appreciate your

A P R I L 2 0 1 0 Spring
On April 24th, Spring Benefit 2010
drew the Benedictine community to
our “Sophisticated Supper Club” at the
elegant Hyatt Regency Chesapeake
Bay in Cambridge, Maryland. It is
always wonderful to greet old friends
and meet new friends who have
so much in common—our belief in
Benedictine’s kids. Approximately 250
people came to enjoy dinner, dancing
and socializing. The special surprise
guest speaker for the evening was
Kevin Duckworth, a graduate of the
Benedictine School and longtime
member of the Open Community and
Vocational Training Programs. Kevin
gave an excellent talk that gave an
inside look at life in the Benedictine
family and what it means to him. What a
wonderful way to let the world know the
importance of our entire community’s
generosity and devotion. Many thanks
to Hunter and Cecelia Duckworth,
and Val and Margee Lynch, Co-Chairs
of Spring Benefit 2010, and to all the
regional and committee members for
putting together another memorable
gala event.
The 2010 Regional Chairs were: Thane
and Susan Young, Anne Arundel;
Eugene and Mary Ruth Higgs, DE/PA
and Eastern Shore; Marc and Susan
Hochberg, Greater Baltimore; Charley
and Syd Mills, Greater Washington; and
Anna Mallas, Tri-State. The Decorations
and Invitation Committee was: Lina
McCarthy, Pat Krieger, and Rae Hurley.
Benefit Returns to the Cambridge Riverside
Guests enjoyed an informal gathering in Michener’s Library on Friday evening.
Anticipating a splendid evening, the crowd gathered for cocktail hour before dinner.
