<strong>The</strong> registrations listed above are those allocated in 1965, when permanent registrations were first used.<br />

Prior to then, vehicles were re-registered every five years. 19-23 carried P1069-P1073 between 1961 and<br />

1965, and P697-P700, P755 between 1956 and 1961. <strong>The</strong> PVRF6 chassis had a rear-mounted Foden FD6<br />

engine. <strong>The</strong>se are the only Fodens known to have gone to New Zealand.<br />

Subsequent Histories<br />

19-23 to City Bus Services, Napier 19-23 1958. City Bus Services were bought over by Hawkes Bay Motor<br />

Company, Napier 6/63 and the vehicles were renumbered C1-C5. C3 was renumbered 68 in 1979. All five<br />

were disposed of to non-<strong>PSV</strong> operators, as follows:<br />

19 - to Bruce, -?- (?Napier?) 11/78 for conversion to a mobile home (‘movan’ in NZ parlance). Seen in<br />

various locations, possible still with Bruce, then later to McKie, Haumoana, then -?-, Raetahi, but last<br />

recorded c1990 and believed scrapped. It had been re-registered OH 9526 c1989.<br />

20 - to Stothers, Napier 12/74 and rebuilt as a movan, with a mid-mounted Commer TS3 engine. To Free,<br />

Auckland (and subsequently various locations, but now of Napier), still as a movan, 1990, and current<br />

12/00. Re-registered EN 8872, then EK 6836 (at unknown dates), then SW 7534 c1994.<br />

21 - to Jones et al, Napier 1979 for conversion to a movan. To McCarthy, Napier Hill 1990; last used<br />

c1995 and in store at Twyford since then. Currently for sale (and a viable preservation project; anyone<br />

interested should contact Peter Tulloch, 29 Crab Tree Hill, Little Eaton, Derby, DE21 5DL in the first<br />

instance).<br />

22 - to timber mill, Tarawera 1978 for use as an immobile mess room. Later to Chapman, Taupo for<br />

continued use as a mess room at Taupo municipal tip. To Free and Gray 1998 and stripped of parts<br />

for their 20 and 23; derelict hulk by12/00.<br />

23 - to Morrison et al, Napier 1978/9 for uncompleted conversion to a movan. Later to Ellis, Napier, who<br />

completed the conversion and had the vehicle re-registered RU 8855 c1992. To Gray, Waohiki c1992<br />

and current 12/00.<br />
