So far we have concentrated on the three production series which are the lefthand derivitives of the model built in<br />
Germany, France and Spain. Whilst no examples have yet been recorded, it is thought that a chagne in the VIN<br />
series is about to occur with the change to 'Euro 3' engines. New models for the British / Irish market with 'Euro 3'<br />
engines are said to have VIN's in the format WKK62725213000134. This is a VIN in line with the Mercedes method<br />
of chassis designation. Similar numerical sequences have been observed for the lefthand drive S317GT-HD model<br />
which is in the format WKK62727013000011. It is thought that the derivation of this number is WKK - Evobus<br />
Setra, 6272 - GT-HD model range, 5 or 7 - model equivalent, 0 or 2 - possibly left or righthand driver, 13 indicating<br />
integral vehicle (first digit of this sequence used to indicate left or righthand drive) and last six digits representing a<br />
sequence for the GT-HD series, irrespective of model length. Whilst this is partly speculation until more information<br />
is to hand, this may result in a change to the method of presentation to information in this section, Further comment<br />
welcomed.<br />
