Vehicles withdrawn:
by 7/01 151/3-6 (PR100MI/Hz GX107); 170 (PR100.2/Hz GX107); 259 (PR100.2) & 363 (PR180).
General: A summary fleet list contained in Réseaux Urbains gave the current fleet as 61-8, 71/2, 101-3/11-
27/57-69/71-87, 261-74, 301-24/62/4-8, 371-98, 451-71. This excludes the GIHP minibuses which are adapted for
disabled transport (current stock believed to be 51-3, 81-5, 96). The R312's (401-31) are also missing, though your
sub-editor saw nine of them while passing through to/from his holidays, including 401/2. PR100.2's 261-6 had
previously been given as withdrawn. 261 was at Ouistreham 12/7/01 and 25/7/01, evidently on loan to the
Chambre de Commerce et Industrie de Caen, who operate the shuttle service between the ferry terminal and the
boats, for foot passengers. None of 262-6 was seen, although slightly newer 267/72 were in evidence.
A new livery is being adopted in anticipation of the new 'tram' service (actually a double-articulated guided
trolleybus, using a single steel rail for guidance), and the CTAC logo is to be dropped in favour of the name
'Twisto', from September 2001. Our French colleagues found the name rather unfortunate, given the difficulties
experienced in Nancy with similar guided trolleybuses, where the rear section has tended to run out of control and
strike street furniture.
