INTERNET E-GROUPS (YAHOOGROUPS)<br />
With the internet now part of the daily life for many people, a number of virtual groups have been formed where<br />
information can be exchanged between like-minded souls. Originally these were called e-groups but around a year<br />
ago these were incorported into the services provided by www.yahoo.com as their yahoogroups. Listed below are<br />
some of the groups whose content most closely reflects the contents of this publication.<br />
Benelux-made-Buses@yahoogroups.com features both vehicles built in Benelux and those operated<br />
either currently or formerly in those countries. Emphasis is placed on the identity of individual buses and coaches<br />
and there are photos attached to some submissions. <strong>The</strong> official language of the site is English.<br />
busesworldwide@yahoogroups.com is a group organised by our fellow publication Buses Worldwide<br />
and the content reflects their magazine with emphasis more on fleet and route developments and industry matters<br />
rather than the nitty-gritty of the identity of individual vehicles. Again the official language is English although<br />
contributions in other languages do exist. Attachments are allowed.<br />
buses-y-autocares@yahoogroups.com is a Spanish site moderated by Alfredo Gutierrez of Palma de<br />
Mallorca. Around half the content, which is mostly photo attachments, originates from this island although now the<br />
site is maturing and more balanced view of Spanish coaching and Spanish built vehicles is emerging. <strong>The</strong> official<br />
language is Spanish although contributions in English do exist.<br />
stadtbus@yahoogroups.com is a group devoted to German vehicles with a stronger emphasis to buses<br />
rather than coaches, although not to their total exclusion. Attention is given to VIN's and attachments are not<br />
allowed but longer lists can be sent which can be accessed by other group menbers. <strong>The</strong> official language is<br />
German although English is understood by most of the group and is tollerated.<br />
vinmen@yahoogroups.com is a group moderated by our American Contemporary editor Ron Taylor<br />
and features VIN identification for mostly American coaches. Attachments are allowed and a quarterly digest is<br />
mailed to group members. Recently Ron suffered a very serious injury following a fall and is currently not able to<br />
contribute either to our Journal (although we do have some earlier submissions which will be used when space<br />
permits) or moderate the group. Our thoughts go out to Ron and his family for his return to health. In the meantime,<br />
submissions or notes relating to vehicles of American origin should be sent to the editor.<br />
