What is AirSupply? Index
In order to drive forward process standardization within the European Aerospace
industry and based on its Supply Chain solution’s maturity, one single Supply Chain
platform has been defined and co-funded by the Aerospace & Defense industry:
EADS, Safran, Thales and Dassault Aviation. AirSupply is the Supply Chain part of
BoostAeroSpace collaborative portal.
The setting-up of a common Supply Chain platform has been mainly triggered by a
will to increase the competitiveness of the European Aerospace & Defense players
Suppliers and clients will share supply chain data using the same data base and user
interface. The hub will help the industry to improve operations, predict and plan
capacity, fine-tune delivery quantities and dates, as well as track order status. Its
web-base interface will offer enhanced ergonomics and flexibility.
Astrium decided to be part of the first AirSupply deployment in 2012 for increasing On
Time delivery performance of its Systems & Equipments as well as Direct Materials
products.
The first functionality selected by Astrium is the electronic publication of Purchase
Orders, their acknowledgements, collaboration on delivery date and then Good
Receipt confirmation.
This logistic stream will be followed by a quality stream (collaboration on Non
Conformance before delivery).
The AirSupply service is provided by SupplyOn company, a specialized IT Supply
Chain Provider.
What is BoostAeroSpace? Index
BoostAeroSpace is a joint initiative of EADS, Dassault Aviation, Safran and Thales to
increase the European Aerospace & Defense competitiveness. The objective of this
common initiative is to build and promote the deployment of a common set of Supply
Chain Management (AirSupply), Product Lifecycle Management (AirDesign) and
Generic Collaboration (AirCollab) solutions for the European Aerospace & Defense
industry, their world-wide suppliers and their sub-tiers. As this set of common
solutions for the A&D extended enterprise will replace company individual ones,
where existing, BoostAeroSpace will drive the standardization and harmonization in
the European A&D industry.
