Hubbs Center for Lifelong Learning opened in 1994. It combines two major literacy centers in St. Paul: The Adult Community Education Center and the Technology for Literacy Center. This innovate Center brings quality services close to the community and offers new technologies to meet diverse life styles. 10:45 am – 12:00 pm Plenary Sessions Generational Marketing — Regency Room The hottest topic of the year in Community Education. There are now four different generations taking Community Education classes. Find out why you need to program and market differently to Generation X, Boomers, Generation Y and Seniors. Take home tips you can use in your next brochure. William Draves, President of LERN Laboratory for Adolescent Science — Lake Superior A/B Because adolescence is a pivotal time of making critical developmental connections, understanding how youth can best be engaged in positive opportunities to support this period of growth are critical. Dr. Abbey Baird, Dartmouth College Leaders/Liederes- Youth Leadership in Minneapolis — Greenway A Youth will present an interactive and thought provoking session that outlines their leadership efforts, including a youth driven coffee shop, planning a school-wide community service day, and participating in a summer youth leadership camp. Colleen Sanders, Project Director, Minneapolis Community Education Learning Center The SEED Program - Supportive Experiential Education — Greenway B Offering Community Education classes that support mental health needs and lifelong learning to adults with serious and persistent mental illness. Faye Norton, Manager, Adult Special Needs Program, St. Paul, Minnesota What’s Your Game Plan for Teaching Math: K-4 Math Games — Greenway C In this hands on math games workshop participants will learn how to implement elementary K-4 math games into their after school program.
