The presentation will center on<br />

the responsibilities of leadership<br />

in advancing youth development<br />

services, particularly in school settings.<br />

These services and the leadership<br />

required to implement them<br />

will focus on the development of<br />

full service schools, community<br />

education centers, the learning environment,<br />

and the development of interdisciplinary approaches<br />

necessary to achieve our objectives. The presentation will also<br />

address the future with respect to “beyond afterschool”, “beyond<br />

high-stakes testing” and refer to the social and emotional development<br />

of children and youth. The presentation will address staff<br />

development issues, establishing a culture of change, linking service<br />

and advocacy and the development of strong accountability<br />

systems to assure proper outcomes and governance.<br />
