I am confused about the leftover products--I just assumed that the health dept picked any "suspect" product (meaning something eaten by the case and so a possible exposure). Given that 2 of the samples were negative, what other possibility is there except that the positive product led to the illness? Is CA aware of other chicken exposures that might complicate the picture? If need be, would CDC say that these 2 patterns are so close that they may represent the same pathogen in this instance?
