Stephen Bowden graduated from the Manhattan<br />
School of Music in 2011, where he studied Piano<br />
Performance as a recipient of the Vera Blacker Scholarship.<br />
While there, he regularly accompanied singers,<br />
cellists, saxophonists and oboists. Stephen earned<br />
first prize in the 2011 Columbia University Chopin<br />
Competition. Prior to life in New York, he attended<br />
the high school division of UNCSA, where he studied<br />
with Clifton Matthews. Under Mr. Matthews’ tutelage,<br />
Stephen was awarded prizes in piano competitions<br />
around the state. Stephen recently decided that his<br />
interest in music is better suited to a hobby, and plans<br />
to attend Georgetown University School of Medicine<br />
<strong>this</strong> fall.<br />
