BONFIRE The hustling vehicles cramming road. Pedestrians pacing up in the chilling Friday breeze; heading towards their abodes. The dawn garbing into its dark yet glittering attire. It was time for the RCI students and staff to set foot in the college premises to rejoice an evening full of amusement and celebration. The display screen was an emblem of fire and flames and a closer scrutiny made visible the glittering gold letters, spelling 'BONFIRE.' Yes, ofcourse all the hustle and bustle was about this most awaited event that had been postponing due to the nature tricking with weather whenever its date was set. Atlast, there was no down pour or even drizzle, just mild gushes of wind that added a ting of excitement to the flaming air. Inside was all black in combination with flames and specks of lights hanging from the canopy that added to the dim ambiance of the scenario.
Asad Naeem and Shahzaib Sarosh took over the stage to initiate the show by inviting Abdul Basit to entertain the audience with the flare and humor of his poetry. It was a humble and humorous start. After the mindblowing performance on High Achievers Ceremony, Huzaifa Labeeb and Saad Bin Younis need no introduction. Again the duo mesmerized the audience with their astounding performance that left the audience jolting with excitement and a loud round of applause. How is it possible a <strong>bonfire</strong> without music to thrive the audience? Again the performers need no introduction as they too had been a great success in High Achievers Ceremony with their outstanding singing performance. But due to some technical problem with the sound system they were not able to perform more than a song. Even that was well appreciated. A skit performance by A-2 students, Umer Saeed, Asad Naeem, Shahzaib Sarosh, Fahad Hanif, Abdullah and Ussama Hassan, was hilarious. It was greeted by the audience with roars of laughter as it was a mix of parody of the faculty members. There again Abdul Basit's appearance demonstrated another coming of a hilarious poetry bit. This time the poetry was on a different note with a flare yet it did not lost its humor. It was inspired by Noor Jehan's song 'Aae Watan ke sajeelai jawano.’ And then……. The non-stop remix dance performance by Raheel, Ahmed Zulfiqar and Osama left the audience exhilarated and excited. It was the perfect way to wrap up the entertainment segment before the tempting aroma of barbequed and grilled chicken magnetized the audience towards its destination. The moment you step out of the tent a blazing <strong>bonfire</strong> welcomed and the air was filled with the spices and lemon tinge that compelled everyone around to savor on the cuisine. Mobs gathered around it, savored and some walked out the gate. Some sat and reviewed the events of the evening; some enjoyed capturing the moments and some sat and enjoyed the background music with till they faded in numbers. The building resumed its daily night routine and once again sank back into silence and tranquility. Lastly, it was an exciting and entertaining event. Other than a few flaws and technical problems from the sound system management the show went quite well. It was all possible by the efforts of our Headmistress ma'am Yasmin and our management staff. Three cheers to all for successfully bringing out this event and making it happen even when there was a daily threat of down pour in the weather forecast.
