Planning
Councillors recommended
approval of plans for the demolition
of existing buildings and the
construction of four two-bedroomed
bungalows on the site of the former
medical centre in Church Road.
There followed the annual parish
meeting when the chairman of
the council and the chairmen of
committees presented their annual
reports.
There followed a meeting of the
parish council.
Resignation
The chairman reported that the
resignation from the parish council
of Cllr Terry Worlledge, owing to
increased outside commitments,
had been received.
Co-option
Mrs Dianne Coe, a former parish
councillor, expressed an interest
in being co-opted on to the parish
council where there is a vacant set.
Later in the meeting councillors
agreed unanimously to co-opt Mrs
Coe on to the council.
Cemetery Land
It was reported that Colchester
BC is prepared to hand over the
designated land for a cemetery to
the parish council.
Councillors were
urged to press for the borough
and the developers to meet
transfer fees.
Maytree Court
It was noted that Maytree Court
needs to be extensively refurbished
as it no longer meets modern
accommodation standards.
Councillors felt that they needed to
know the intentions of the housing
authority concerning Maytree Court
before making their views known on
the possible future of the premises.
Refuse bags
The clerk reported that the cost of
garden sacks - available from the
parish offi ce, Mynott Court - has
increased to £3.50 per sack.
A year’s supply of both the black
and the clear plastic bags has now
been distributed to households in
part of Tiptree. Distribution in the
remainder of Tiptree will take place
during the week of May 1.
Any household that has not
received sacks by the end of that
week should report this to Angel
Court, Colchester tel: 01206
282700 by June 18 at the latest.
