VOLUNTEERS In 2007 our volunteers logged over 3000 hours helping with school tours, scout and outreach programs, special events, research, exhibits, collections documentation, and serving on the Board of Trustees and Museum committees. We are very lucky to have such dedicated and capable volunteers. Thank you! 10
THE COLLECTION Following a year-long hiatus while we moved our collection into the Christensen Storage Facility, the Museum has returned to actively collecting artifacts. Peter Lundskow was hired in July as our new Curator of Collections and is implementing a new focus on collecting items of more recent age that are connected with the vital life of commerce that connects Boulder globally. Examples of objects donated to the Museum in 2007 include an extensive collection from the 97 year history of the Smith Shoe Company and objects from natural product companies, including WhiteWave and the recently purchased Wild Oats. Artifacts that cover the personal stories of Boulder residents include a player piano with over 100 piano rolls and a large photographic collection documenting one family’s history from 1900 to the 1980s.
