Drinking Water: it quenches our thirst; it hydrates our<br />

body; and, in this case--brings music to our ears!<br />

It’s a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas,<br />

and we here at <strong>Cannabis</strong> <strong>Lifestyle</strong> <strong>Magazine</strong><br />

have the pleasure of spending it at Rosie’s Placethe<br />

home, practice space and sometimes concert<br />

venue for the band Drinking Water.<br />

Who is Drinking Water?<br />

In its present incarnation, DW consists of three<br />

musicians and best friends: Henry -lead singer<br />

and guitarist, David (aka Bilo) on drums and<br />

the newest member, rockin’ female bassist<br />

Anais.<br />

The formation of Drinking Water began with<br />

the shared dream of two 15 year old kids who<br />

just wanted to play music. Bilo and Henry, both<br />

originally from Yuma, Arizona, quickly bonded over<br />

their joint interest in music and discovering the<br />

power of plant medicine.<br />

In 2008, in between working, hiking, exploring<br />

nature, and sleeping (sometimes in their car)—<br />

the guys decided to start a band: and needed to<br />

come up with a name. As dudes of few possessions,<br />

one of the only items that came with them<br />

everywhere was a generic gallon jug which literally<br />

had the words “Drinking Water” spelled out<br />

on the label. One day, (while medicating) the jug’s<br />

label took on a whole new meaning and the name<br />

search was over. Bilo says, “It [the name] just kind<br />

of stuck.” Henry adds, “It ‘fit’ and seemed ‘catchy’<br />

so we went with it… [the words] ‘Drinking water’<br />

goes tight and deep to our souls.”<br />

As for DW’s start in the music business, Henry<br />

says, “I feel like we really began in 2011 when we<br />
